Help....my 219 brush refuses to get clean!
So today is my weekly "brush cleaning day" and all of my brushes look like brandnew after cleaning them with the MAC Brush Cleanser except for the #219! It still has some residue between the hairs!

What did I do wrong?

Any tips?

Throw your MAC Brush cleaner away - seriously! I found the best brush cleaner in the world, my brushes were never that clean in a heartbeat!

you'll get it at douglas, here's a link:Klick

I'm using this at least once a week on all my brushes for the last half year and you can't even see that I used it at all, it will last aaaaaagggggeeeesss and it smells of lemons

that happened to my 239 over time. Have you tried the brush cleaner and then follow w/ baby shampoo or the other way around?

I have the same problem with my flat liner brush. I just use bar soap as well, and it cleans up quite nicelly.

My 219 brush comes up a treat everytime I wash it...i use just my regular hair shampoo and conditioner (Clairol Herbal Essences for coloured hair). The MA at my counter told me not to bother with brush cleaner because she is actually trying to help me save money i think...and after seeing the results, I won't!

I thought was the only one that had a " brush washing day" ! Great minds think alike! I also use shampoo for the weekley wash, but in between , during the week when I want to use a different color on the same brush, I use the MAC cleaner. It dries really fast so I can use it right away.

It made a huge difference for me. The brushes aren't as stiff afterwards and much softer...a lot like hair I suppose. Makes them easier to reshape as well. I leave it on for a couple of minutes, not too long. Usually just long enough to wash the gungy water I've been washing the brushes in out of the basin!

I use my 239 Diana brush everyday and when I decide to clean it I pour some diluted brush cleanser (not too much just that the brush/brushes can soak in it!) into a glass, put the brush in and let it soak in for about 5-10 minutes! After that I rinse it off with some lukewarm water and it looks like that:

Like brandnew!
