Inventive eyes Substitutes..
Okay, I ordered my MAC inventive eyes off the MAC site because the stores were already sold out. The colors are so similar to some shadows i already have.. here is my rundown..

White Wheat(F)= Shroom(S) or Pollen(F)
Velour (S)= Dovefeather(M) or Shale(S)
Twillery(VP)= Woodwinked(VP) or Elite(vp)..maybe mineralism(L) too
Inventive(V)= Sketch(V) or Trax(V)

On a budget this could come in handy!

I kind of have to disagree with some of that. White wheat is similar to pollen (darker base tho & more yellow, its too dark to be a highlight for me but pollen is perfect, if you swatch them beside eachother pollen looks white in comparison) but I don't think its like shroom at all.

Can't argue with your similar shades for Velour.

Twillery has way, way less orange tones than Woodwinked and its lighter. I don't think these two are similar at all. At least not on my skin. Elite is more orange than Woodwinked still, but they are not incredibly far apart from eachother. Still I think Twillery is not close to Woodwinked and definatley not close to Elite.

I agree with the similar ones for Inventive though except I much much prefer the texture & tone of it to Trax. It doesn't look so bruisey & it actually blends well. Inventive is also close to maroon pigment.

Of course these are jmo and based on how it looks on MY skin, could be totally different results on other skintones..

I think Inventive is much closer to Sketch than Trax, personally. At least, they are on my PPP neutralish skin. I swatched Inventive and Sketch on my hand and they were nearly identical, I couldn't tell which was which.

Wish there was a dead-on substitute for Twillery
I think Twillery is one gorgeous shimmery neutral. I'd love for someone--MAC or not--to have a look a like. Anyone have any ideas? It seems unique to me. TIA!

In the pan Inventive looked like a sparklier sketch to me. When the MA showed it to me with a base under it, it had more sparkly/glittery payoff than sketch. And since I don't really care for the sparkles in sketch and for my purposes, I had e/s similar enough to all the other shades except velour (which I didn't care for anyway), I passed on the quad.

Twillery looks like Coco pigment on me.

I agree that the colors in the quad are very similar to ones out there. I made my own "Inventive Quad" with what I already have.

I swapped somone for White Wheat after seeing some really great face of the day pics. I will say after trying it..it is very close to (discontinued) Urban Decay Snow. Actualy Urban Decay Snow is a little more pigmented.

I also have to disagree with some of the comparisons. Not to nitpick, just how the shadows compare on me. Elite and Woodwinked are very warm (orange/goldish) on me, whereas Twillery is very neutral. Inventive is more plum (as opposed to purple) than Trax. And White Wheat seems like a duochrome. I'm not sure if it is or not, but that's how it looks on me.

And Velour is also similar to Quarry.
