Let's talk about Dusk...

Hi all

, this is my first post, how exciting! I'm Sandy "K" and my username is a take on the Sandy "B" lipstick

Let's talk about Dusk lipglass. I glanced at it quick at the counter. I already have VGV, Damzel, Pink Clash & Luxuriate and Dusk seems to be in the same family as all of those. How is it unique? I'm probably going to get it, but I was just wondering how you all are liking it.

i was just thinking the same thing. i have VGV and Luxuriate, and Dusk looks very similar to Luxuriate IMO. i love mauvey pink shades and trying to think of a reason to exchange Dusk for something else i don't have. Kinda in the same boat as you

Hmm I think Dusk is a bit more pink-y than Luxuriate, which is more neutral colored. Pink Clash is my most very favorite,.. a light girly pink/gold and far from Dusk. But I think the thing is that MAC often puts out things that are just the barest tint off from another color,.. just enough to not be the same and I guess it really can depend on the pigmentation of your lips also,.. I dont have much pigment in my lips at all soo,..they look like they do in the tube on my lips,..Guess it all boils down to the level of your personal LE "junkie-ism" Thankfully I don't have too many l/g's yet,.. but I am working that way,...

I have Viva Glam V lipglass and thought the same thing. I just bought Dusk yesterday. It's totally different than anything I've used. The color is very light when used alone. The glitter feels different. It feels a bit chunky, like Diorkiss. I would test it out in the store and then decide if you want it or not. I was very happy with it. I may go back to look at the Catherine lipsticks.

I really, REALLY love Dusk. If it was perm, it'd be a HG for me. It's the perfect sheer pinky berryish colour without being too bright, purple, etc. The closest thing to it on my lips is Star Nova Lustreglass, but I prefer Dusk.

i just posted a comparison pic of Luxuriate and Dusk on the swatch thread. It looks kinda similar on my lips, except that Dusk seems to be more shimmery. Not sure if i should keep or return. :confused:

Thanks for posting the pic! I can see how it looks lighter and more pink than Luxuriate. I think I'll give it a try since these kind of colors work so well for me. I'll update when it arrives later this week!

I'm really glad this thread was started, as I have Luxuriate l/g and was wanting to get Dusk. You lovelies just saved me a bit of dough! Thanks!

Now to demolish lemmings for Sable and Mauro, the latter being too dark for me hopefully.

I have Dusk and Luxuriate, Dusk is lighter and Luxuriate looks copper when I swatch them side by side.

Dusk is like a shade between Pink Clash and Flash of Flesh, without the glitters.

Just looking at PK's swatch, I'd agree with the Luxuriate comparison - Dusk appears to be slightly cooler in tone than Luxuriate.
