Umm...is this Blueboy paint?

Hey lovelies!

I have the oppurtunity to get this one ina swap but I'm not sure if it really is Blueboy because I've seen pics on Legacycollection where BB looked brighter!

hmm. can't really tell, but it looks more like infamous IMO. The blue on my blueboy is definately more blue around the bottom.

that doesnt look like blue boy at all. the strip of color around blue boy is really matte blue. that one looks like a metallic lilac... like mauvism or something...

It's not blueboy, however I have tried that color on my hand before (I think it was at a CCO, but not sure). It's really pretty. You may want to come in contact with the swapper.

That looks very similar to a blueboy I got not that long ago....I had come to the conclusion that mine was fake too. One thing I notice about both of ours is that it says 7.5g when I believe it should be 6.5g. Also, I dont know if yours is like this, but on the back of the tube, it didnt even say Blueboy anywhere. Another thing, I cant totally tell if yours is like this, but the box was more of a rougher matte cardboard, not the smoother one that every other MAC product I've gotten was in.

That looks like the older packaging for Blueboy. I have an old and a newer one and yours looks just like my old one.

As far as the older ones, the colour on the tube is not as vibrant as the newer ones. It does look almost purple. It also does not have the Blueboy name printed anywhere on the tube. The product in the tube is just the same, though.

Just from looking at the box yours came in, I can tell it is pretty old. I don't think you got cheated, you just got a fairly old product. So, good news...sort of.

I noticed the 7.5 thing too. The paints are 6.5.

Now I am not sure if they ever changed the weight on them. I didn't start buying paints until 2 years ago.

Ohh reeeally?? So your old one is from a store and is definitely authentic then? Thats crazy. Mine just seemed too different to me. I wondered if they had just changed it, but then every other one I found was different so I just assumed mine was probably a faker. Thats good to know that it might be real...good thing I didnt just toss it haha.

Paints used to be 7.5, and dropped down to the current size in '01. I have paints from the 7.5 era, they aren't fakes- I bought them directly from MAC.

That looks like the tube of blueboy I had, and sold. The strip was metallic in the early days.

Thanks for the info Martygreene. I thought they might have changed the size but I was not sure since I just started buying paints just a few years ago.

Blueboy is an absolute yes! Am even considering getting *suspense sounds* a back-up!
