Art Supply Store brushes

The bookstore at my campus sell all kinds of art brushes of all shapes, sizes, textures, etc. They are no more than $10 each. Do you guys think they would be good to use as makeup brushes? Anyone done this? I want to expand my brush collection but not go broke doing so. Thanks guys!

I think Rouquinne had a topic or advice about this, and has a guide on her link. There is a major topic I think in the MAC category about brushes, and there's a lot of talk there about the art store brushes, so if you can find it it'll probably answer your questions! It was really helpful & interesting. It's been a while back, so you'll need to look back in the topics a little ways.
