Question !!! Need serious Make Up Artistry Help Please please help!
Ok. I work a photography studio where I do eyes exclusively.

Now I want to expand and do the entire face. And I can do it, no problem.

PROBLEM:

I need to figure out what make up lines (incl. MAC) carry quality but AS CHEAP AS POSSIBLE foundations that wont break anyone out.

Some one gave me a WHOLE tub of covergirl new foundations, never opened and said I should use those because it has every shade. I'm scared to. What if someone is allergic?

Also which basic shades should I get (in the line you recommend) that are wide enough variety that I can mix to get the right shade for every color skin.

sorry if this was long and complicated.

gah..

thats kind of difficult...i doubt there is any such foundation that will never break anyone out. I've even heard of breakouts with mineral foundations. I think you should just use your covergirl foundations for now, I havent really heard of people being allergic to them. If you want you can do a little test patch on their wrist to see if they have an allergy to the ingredients. And it is not very likely that one would have a horrible breakout from using a foundation once.

I haven't tried them, but I know that brands that are meant for sensitive and breakout-prone skins, like Eau Thermale Avéne and Vichy have foundations. The Vichy ones are the Dermablend, and the Avéne is the Couverance (if I'm not mistaken), although I read that the Couverance seems to be a bit too oragey :\
