No, because a lot of women wear makeup out of insecurity.
Film, photography, and theater need makeup in order for features to show up. Theatatrical performances especially need makeup or else you wouldn't be able to see a person's face from a distance.

Does she wear makeup? By her comments I'm guessing no?
Sounds to me like more rhetoric from someone trying to justify her choice to not use the products. AKA I dont know how to use it, and or do not want to be pressured into using it, so I'll come up with some justification as to why I'm a better person for not using it. And in the process choose to look not nearly as attractive as the women that choose to wear it (had to throw in my vanity! ).
I really dont understand why everyone feels their need to justify their actions. Were you trying to get her to try some products? Or talking about wanting to go buy MU? Since I know thats where I typically encounter those types of comments. If it's not that it's, "foundation makes my skin break out." Or, "I dont like looking like my face is a different color from my body." Or whatever other ignorant comment that stems from the first time they tried to apply a drugstore liquid foundation by themselves, and managed to come out looking rather silly. Even more amusing is once you get them to try MU again (took it being my birthday to get one of my friends to sit in the chair at MAC LOL!), there tone is usually different. Especially if they get a lot of comments from their friends about how pretty they look, when usually no one ever tells them that.

As far as I'm concerned, fakeness had alot more to do with who you are than what you put on your face. To each their own!

Lame. Does she color her hair? Or straighten it because its curly? Or curl it because its straight? I don't know ANYONE who doesn't do something to make themselves look a bit more presentable whether it be makeup, clean clothing or a number of other things, like showering on a regular basis

Oh well, each to their own. You wear make-up because you like it, she avoids it because of personal experience/ingrained expectations. Don't try and change her mind by dragging her to a make-up counter, all you'll do is reinforce her opinions. If you want to be proactive, try verbalising how your make-up reflects yourself without refering to vanity/beauty/masking yourself - i.e. "I was really happy when I woke up this morning, so I wore eyeshadow that was bright and cheerful. Do you like it?" - and take it from there.
(I deal a lot with unhelpful/anti-makeup bridesmaids, MILs and frenemies of my clients - can you tell?)

yes she does wear make up but just very little and it all comes from a drugstore because she doesnt see the 'point of buying counter make up' secretly i think shes a little jealous? not of me just well i dunno just she would like to buy counter make up
when she said it i was in no way tryin to get her to get anything we were just walking past the cosmetics bit of a department store it was a bit odd
shes like this with alot of things though i mentioned once i always seen this girl from school out shopping when i was at work and she said she was really sad and had nothing better else to do:confused:
i dont think its fake at all i wear make up cos i think it improves how i look anyway and makes me feel better

If she wear any makeup beyond lip balm, it seems hypocritical to even mention that wearing makeup is fake, unless she sees herself as such.

exactly. i think she meant to imply something about she hated counter make up but it came out completely wrong and was one of them step back and go what? moments lol
i completley think it was the way she was brought up as her parents never buy her anything even though they are super rich and although she gets nearly $200 a week in wages she doesnt seem to buy anything
never mind though
edit to add- i found it hilarious that after she said it we walked past the chanel counter and i seen this eyeshadow that was very unusuall ill try and get a pic and she was fascinated by it lol

Some people pretend not to be interested in makeup or beauty products, because they think it makes them look shallow.
