rolls. not the hot cross kind.
ok i'm mid twenties and within the past few years i've developed my first rolls and jeans spillover. i've watched grad school do a serious number on the physical appearances of several of my classmates - male and female - or maybe it's just those years of beer swilling finally catching up to them. in any event, when i go out and about, i see this tiny tantastic things teetering about in their 4 inch heels, halter tops, tight black pants, and blonde hair down to their butts...

...and i can't decide if i feel old or just matronly.

why am i posting this? probably cause it's better than packing.

Shhhhh... we don't talk about going from a size 5 to 7 from age 25 to 27 - I try not to think about mine - but I mean I'm not that horrid, I could be worse, I dont know I always think well I dont' want to be in my 30s and be a size 5 and look like an anorexic heroin addict. When I was a teenager I had people say they thought I was on drugs because I was soooo thin.... <I wasnt'- I ate a lot and never did anything bad to my body> I will take the "womanly" shape.. as long as it doesnt' get too womanly. I'm not happy about those rolls myself.

If you haven't had children yet, just wait for that. Let me tell you, if I knew my tummy would look the way it does after a c-section, I would have done my best to push the little bugger out!

joy - i hear what you're saying. i was in the fitting room and experienced some major trauma when for the first time the normal size i used to reach for would hardly button. after struggling - just to prove i could - i finally buttoned them but then my damn potbelly just flopped over the top of them. it was horrific. i just couldn't stop thinking PORKER! not that it's that awful or anything, but this is the first time i've even had to think about what i'm doing to my body (as far as diet and never exercising at all). and it's all in the belly (and boobs, which i don't mind). no butt, thighs issues - YET. is that weird?

shawna - babies have not happened thus far. so no light at the end of the tunnel, eh??? ahhhh! i need a bo-flex.

I went from being a size 0-3 when I was 17-20 years old then as soon as I turned 21 something changed. I first went to a 4-5 and now at 23 years old I am a size 7. I have a big booty and wide hips but i'm starting to get those little rolls in my love handles. I hate how I look, even though I know a lot of people would kill to look like me and I don't really look THAT horrible it's just so upsetting to me because I used to be so tiny. I was also a dancer for 16 years so I am completely out of shape. A lot of people say I am growing into an adults body and I don't want to fit back into those size 3's again and look anerexic and they are right but just in case I have all my old 0's and 3's tucked away in the back of my closet

JK, I feel your pain!!! I turned 26 and it was all downhill form there baby....three years later and I have accepted the fact that 1) I can not longer eat anything that I want to and 2) I absolutely must begin to use that gym membership to 'whittle' down my thighs and curvatious hips and luscious butt

Shoe Crazy- I feel ya- I am totally the same way!!! I was like 97 lb and 5'7" when I graduated High School, and well, I'm almost 24, and, though I now have T and A, or as my mother would say- I filled in in all the right places... I've got that little belly that goes over my jeans.. I HATE it. Like you said- Im not that big- I still wear a size 4... but its one of those mental things.. when youa ren't used to something, you feel uncomfortable with it- I woud KILL to be in my 0 and 3s again. :-P

No kidding... it's been 2 years since I had my kid and still haven't taken the baby weight off. And I gained more than the average.. ugh, gross! And the hips... I know they get bigger when you're pregnant but geeze, they should shrink back up or something!

haha, i totally feel all of you girls....all of my weight is in my hips, thighs and especially my stomach! i loved how my body was BEFORE 2 years ago because i at least looked in shape. not flabby like how i am now....

i know that there are a few reasons to my weight gain...it's because at my job, all i do is sit all day and i drank lots of beer too during the last couple of years....now i cut back a lot on beer and alcohol.....i've got a membership to 24 hr fitness now so that i can tone up and get back into shape!

i hate that fat around my love handles lol! i never used to have it...my bf always squeezes it and tells me he likes it but geez, he's my bf so he doesn't want to be mean to me haha!

I've had three children- all before age 23- always gotten back to prepregnancy weight within a few mos. the weight hit me fall of 02 when I was going to graduate school but it got worse this year when I taught and ate in a school lunchroom all year, *low quality meals, that somehow I ate anyways because it was lunch and I've been trained like Pavlovs dogs to drool when I smell warm dinner rolls in a school's hallway.

It hasnt' went near my upper body i still have stick arms and my chest of course wouldn't dare gain weight so my boobs will never get bigger. lol

Yup, I was a 0-3 in HS, College in between pregnancies I was a 5 and a 7-8 now- I have been tormented by working with teenage girls too. But this year the teenagers in that region are generally 7-8s and I just grin when they gave me hell - and think rather bitchily that those teens are my size now in ten years they'll be 14-16s. Oh I'm an evil person. <EG>

I just avoid mirrors that show my belly, my hips aren't too bad. Its just my belly and my thighs have put on a little. And always blame having children on it. Not school food like I should.

I certainly don't regret having my son, but boy, the stretchmarks. I look like a roadmap. I should get a star tatooed on my tummy that says "you are here" And the little loose floppy skin bits that hang over my c-section scar are a real joy. I have to tuck it into my jeans.
http://www.specktra.net/forum/album_pic.php?pic_id=1197 I have to remind myself how cute he is from time to time in order to forgive the mess that is my tummy. Who could get angry at that??

I gained 60 lbs in 5 yrs. I used to be 125 and I kept alot of the old clothes until recently when I threw them all out... except for some dresses I would *LOVE* to wear again (for motivation).

I've recently taken control of my eating habits and have gone on a low calorie/workout fitness plan and have lost 15.4 lbs thus far. Only 40 more lbs to go!

Everything started sliding downhill at 25. I won't even tell you what 30 is like. I have gained weight like crazy.

when i was in highschool i was a size 9 but now im a size 14 im not fat at all i weigh 159 almost everyday i work out i am toned and have lean muscle, i am on a strict diet of fish, chicken and fruit and vegtable, i treat myself to goodies once a week - i have a personal trainer that helped me gain confidence and told me that dress size dosent matter~ and it dosent! I used to be overweight and weigh around 180 because my dad died and got depressed and gained that weight after 2 years - so now after i lost all that weight i have loose skin around my stomach but when im 22 next year i am getting rid of that and im still trying to loose weight my goal is 140 or 130 since im only 5'3 that is a healthty weight and get down to a size 10/11.

im going to be honest with you its not the size of your clothing that matters, its all how you look - you can be a size 5 and be flabby or toned or a size 10 and have perfect toned arms and legs but a bad torso or you can be a size 18 and have a healthy body and good muscular developement - it all depends on your height and body structure and if you exersize and eat right. dont let the public image of models and television fuck you up like it does to so many self concious girls, love you for who you are. if you need change - CHANGE YOURSELF but dont feel guilty because you're not the perfect 3,5,7 even after you loose weight and do all that you can do and you're still not satafied go to a doctor to fix that, im pro surgery, nobody should be trapped inside a ugly body! i believe the outside should match the inside and how you feel -

but thoes girls who wear slutty clothes just cheapen themselves that denotes no class - no money. OO and i hate thoes pants with the words on the butt that say DELICIOUS, ANGEL, CUTIE, SEXY & JUICY ( i cant bust on the Brand juicy couture because i own a few of their jackets and skirts but i hate thoes damn pants )

im strange i only wear skirts, and have one pair of pants to work out in lol - but i like the vintage look - fitted vintage band shirt (right now im crazy for thoes Dior Addict/J'Adore shirts they are soo bitchen), crazy skirts, and pumps or flats in the winter i wear knee socks and mary janes. but if i want to feel frumpy i run around in my juicy couture jacket or my (ch)ore jacket and a ruffle skirt w. flip flops (ive been doing that for 2 months its sad haha)
