Stupid Tape on CD cases
I'd like to take a moment and just complain about the stupid tape they put on CD cases! Ugh I got like 10 new CD's today and opening each one has been a pure pain in my ass!
It's like when those packages and you have to slice into them. Then if you try to return it the store is like we need the packaging! Well, tuff luck because I ripped that crap apart trying to get to the darn product!

Stupid people that try or rather did steal CD's and now the rest of us have to pay for it each time we buy a new one! To those people I'd to give a lovely

Heehee just a little rant.

Anyways...to all those that understand my frustration! Here's to you!

Have you ever tried to take the jewel case lid off from the bottom? This makes the tape pull apart so that all you have to do is pull it off. Turn the cd over to the back. Go against the spine at the bottom and pull up the hinge. There is a notch at the bottom to put your thumb on and you push against it upwards. It will open upwards. The tape will then be on both parts but all you have to do is pull the top of the cd down to remove the tape. I hope I've explained this so that it makes sense.

I was just going to say this- makes CDs MUCH easier to open! now, getting the cellophane off to even get to the CD case is a whole other story

ummm...I am uh, too strong I guess. LOL
I broke this case trying to this on the last batch of CD's I got. I'll try it again next time.
I just love the one's that have the "pull" tag they make it much easier.

I totally agree with you........ I despise that tape... it's on dvds now too... it pisses me off... and it's totally when I have a girl moment and ask my boyfriend for help. Also because he's anal about cds and dvds "looking nice" and I tend to get fed up and use my teeth and I leave bite marks on them =(

You don't have to use your teeth! Get a key and GENTLY where the CD or DVD opens (there will usually be a tiny gap where the case clicks open/shut), drag the key and it's usually quite easy to rip the plastic. But I kind of hate biting things to open or tear them.

I use an my exto knife and cut from the plastic wrap though the tape it gets it all off in under a minute, just make sure you cut away from your self and not toward your self.
