Summer Shopping & CC Debt
Summer is coming! I'm excited about it mainly because that means I'll be working more hours, which means more money and more shopping!! :-) There are so many things I want! Makeup (no brainer!),clothes, shoes, accessories, a hair cut, the list goes on!

At the same time I also want to pay off one credit card completely, while paying down the others.

Victoria's Secret just increased my limit to $800, those sneaky bastards! lol. They want me owing them til I'm 50 and can't even fit the things I bought! I won't fall into the trap tho!

I've been good as far as paying more than the minimum payment, so I'm making progress I suppose but I still need advice.

Look into "snowballing" your credit card debt. It's the fastest way to get out.

Anytime anyone here brings up credit, I recommend a visit to creditboards.com. Best advice on the net!

Re: Summer Shopping & CC Debt
Call your credit card companies up and ask them to lower your APR. If you're in good standing and haven't done that recently, they probably will.

I would also cut down your spending to the bare minimum. Being debt-free is much better than any makeup or clothing you could buy

Re: Summer Shopping & CC Debt
I use my credit card for everything, but that's because I don't want to be smacked with debit charges and it helps build good credit. That being said...

I make absolutely certain that I pay back every last penny when the next month rolls around. Did you know that if you owed $500 and paid back $499, they'd still charge you interest on the full $500? Yep. You can lose a lot of money that way. Think of it this way: if you keep your credit card payed off, you can actually buy more with the money you were previously spending on interest! That, and you never have to stress about being in debt.
