I don't know. It's not listed on the precautions site http://precautions.specktra.net. A lot of red toned pigments are not eye safe, but this thread http://www.specktra.net/showthread.php?t=50926 says Accent Red is. I don't know how they found that information, or how accurate it is, though. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
I just called the MAC Customer Service phone number listed on the website, and they told me Accent Red is NOT eye safe, because it has little flecks of glitter. Too bad. I wish there were more eye safe red Pigments and Cream Color Bases.

I thought MAC puts a "warning note" in pigments that are not eye safe...Mine didn't have one in there. This is very disappointing considering I have been using it on my eyes and one of my coworkers has been too!

yep no warning note with mine either... but the day i purchased it.... the MUA there was wearing it on her lids...i just don't think you can go CLOSE to you eyes... like for liner... good luck all
Today when I went to a MAC counter, I heard a sales associate say that Accent Red *is* eye safe, because it does not contain red 40. So I am confused; I have heard so many different things. Sorry to muddle things further.
Accent Red IS eyesafe, but only as a shadow. MAC doesn't condone doing your waterline at all, especially not with pigments. because they're a loose powder, they're very liable to flake off and irritate the eye/tear ducts. but i don't see anything wrong with using it as a liner on the upper lashline, as long as it's above the lashes...since it's safe as a shadow, it should also be as a liner. just stay away from the waterline and be extremely careful not to get any in your eyes HTH!
