I'm new here and also like others, would like to have if you had this problem. I recently purchased Grape/p and next day my eyes were affected swollen and very red and also itchy. Its been now 2 day, since i tried it. I heard that purple colors have strong pigmentation and can affect the eyes. Has anyone here had this situation b-4? I feel sad bcause i love my mac and since it was my first pigment, i was wasnt too sure on if should get me other colors. I'm waiting for you feedback ladies!!!! Thanks for reading this!

oh im so sorry for you.. i havn't had any problems with my pigments purples or others..
i've had a test done at my docters place.. to see if there was anything i would get allergy from. luckely there isn't anything. but maybe you should try putting the pigment on your under arm and place a piece of tape over it.. then wear it for 24 hours if you have allergy i guess it would show.

Thanks a lot girl! I find it soooo weird getting this from my favorite colors! I had the time to read other post and i saw some other people getting allergies from different pigment also, but grape was not mentionned! At least you can wear all the colors you want! I will be going to the mac store to return them today, what i PAIN!!!!

Grape Pigment isn´t eyesafe, that´s why you had these problems. Checking the precautions list before buying something really pays off at these situations...

There should be a slip of paper in the box with the pigment that lists Grape as unsafe for the eyes.

Lots of pigments ARENT eyesafe, you should check before you use any of them on eyes.

I have used grape on my eyes and not had a problem - but I always use a base first and sometimes this helps.

I have had the same thing happen with grape pigment. While it is not eye-safe, sometimes I test my luck. Grape burned my eyelid the first time I tried it and I immediatly took it off. Have never tried that again.

I will never wear pigments in my life i guess. If i only knew! the best thing in all this is that i returned them without any problem. But still so have a bad feeling about it! Did you only had a problem w/Grape? Can someone tell me what other product are unsafe other than pigments?

Lucky you girl!!! I went to the mac store and they told me alcohol will clean all my brushes. that's my next step i guess. Otherwise i will loose them all! now i guess all the rest of my eyeshadow are infected also i beleive!What a disaster!!!

alot of people have reactions to purples and pinks. it is usually the red dye #5 that they react to. make sure there isn't that dye in the product, and that it is eye safe as well.
