Question Allergic To Pigment?
Is anybody allergic to pigments? I only own/tried one pigment (Entremauve), and the last time I used it, I ended up with a sty the next day. What's strange is that it was only on ONE eye. There are some small rashes on my eyelid. Could it be that I'm allergic to the pigment? My other eye is fine, but I'm just curious. I used the same products on both of my eyes. Could it just be that I got a sty, not from the result of wearing a pigment, but "just because"?

I know that some people do have reactions to a certain red dye used in some pink/purple products, but I'm not sure whether or not it's in Entremauve. I hope your eye gets better soon =)

I'm perfectly fine with eyeshadows. I use some purple ones, and I don't seem to be allergic to them. I sometimes use them alone, and I haven't had any reactions when I've worn them. Is it possible to have a reaction on one eye, and none on the other, when you've used the same products on both? EEEEEEEEK :S

It could be that you are allergic and then again it could be you got the sty just because. I'm not a doctor or anything so I'm really not trained in the matter but I'm sure it is very possible to me allergic to pigments. Maybe you should go to the doctor and check it out. It could be nothing but it's better to be safe then sorry. If it winds up you're allergic they can tell you what it is ur allergic to exactly so you can avoid buying any products with that ingridents.

A sty is from a blocked hair follicle isn't it? It is possible some of the loose powder got into the hair follicle on one eye and affected only one eye. The best way to see if you are allergic (and what I do) is to test the pigment or whatever on my wrist and leave it on overnight. It is an easy fix to cover up hives on your wrist rather than on your face I hope your eye gets better soon.

I have a sty, but small rashes are present only on my left eye. It COULD possibly just be irritated................ IDK. No eyemakeup for a while :|. BOO.

Some of the frostier MAC pigments and the MSF's have started to give me problems recently. My skin begins to itch within 10 minutes of application, and then I break out 12-24 hours later

So yes, I think a pigment allergy is possible. But in my case it's probably not the pigment itself; more likely to be whatever ingredient gives the product its shimmer.
