I am allergic to the toulene and formaldehyde in most nail polishes. Fortunately, MACs polishes don't have either. My allergy just started to occur in my early twenties. It was so nice to spend wads of money on a nice manicure and then have swollen, itchy, red cuticles 20 minutes later.

I went to my dermatologist and had a patch test of common cosmetic/health product ingredients. I had to wear a big sticker on my back for 2 or 3 days. That is how I found out that I was allergic to the toulene and formaldehyde, as well as some hair dye ingredients, and Neosporin.

I not only have photosensitivity, but also am allergic to many sunscreening chemicals. Makes life fun.

I have terrible skin allergies, but I can't be patch-tested because I'm allergic to any and every adhesive. Awesome.

OMG - I am impressed that you all know the exact name of the chemicals you're allergic to!
I am also photosensitive AND allergic to most sunscreens. However, 99 percent of my allergies extend only to my face, neck and, errrr, decollete. Everytime I try a new cream, cleanser, foundation or concealer, I feel like I'm playing a weird game of cosmetic russian roulette. However, thank goodness, I am not allergic to any eyeshadows/liners I have tried, only to any formulation of waterproof mascara, and I am not allergic to lip products.
After breaking out in red, inflamed patches from Studio Fix Fluid and MoistureBlend - red patches that dry up and make it impossible to wear any makeup for weeks - I gave up on Mac foundations. I finally made friends with Jane Iredale Liquid Minerals, which is pretty light in coverage but doesn't break me out. Forget the powder kind of mineral foundation - it finds and magnifies pores and lines I didn't even know I had.
I also stopped using anything but almond oil and extra virgin olive oil to take my makeup off with, and moisturize with NAPCA spray (from the health food store, the natural ingredientn in skin that sucks moisture in from the air), followed with a spray of rosewater and a couple of drops of grapeseed oil. And my skin loves me again...
Sunscreen was the worst, I am sooo pale and sooo photoallergic. I tried everything, from Shiseido Ultimate Sun to drugstore brands, and the upshot of all of it was huge red patches, until I got a sample of "Purpose Anti Redness Moisturizer" with SPF 30 (not as high as I would need, but hey, scaly patch people can't be choosers). It works fabulously! Not sure re the anti redness thing, but at least it doesn't make things worse, never pills, never irritates (even around my eyes!) and is pretty nice moisturizer for dry skin. I add a little Pink Opal pigment to the Purpose stuff, and presto - my own version of Strobe (which, weirdly, I am NOT allergic to) with spf 30.

Anyone else ever found that they are allergic to studio fix?

Everytime I put it on the tip of my nose gets really itchy almost as if the particles are so small that they irritate the membrane of my nose. So annoying as I really like studio fix.

I'm allergic to bismuth oxychloride in Bare Minerals (and some other mineral makeup). When I put it on, nothing really happens, but later on during hot days, when my face starts to sweat, my face becomes really itchy, stingy, and burns! I found out that bismuth oxychloride is related to arsen... So now I use Everyday Minerals which is bismuth oxychloride free.
