Developing allergies to mascara?
Hi everyone - I just wanted to see if anyone had input on my current situation.

I have been wearing mascara for years and years, and no matter what kind I have worn I was fine. Well as of about 2-3 weeks ago I have noticed that when I wear mascara my eyes get irritated and scratchy feeling. I do wear contacts - and even when I wear my glasses my eyes still feel scratchy.
I'm not sure if it's because of mascara flaking off into my eyes, or if I could possibly be developing an allergy to mascara!

Has anyone else had this problem?

These are the mascaras I have had this reaction with:
MAXX Factor volume couture, Rimmel's Lash Maxx and Glam Eyes, Maybelline Sky High Curves and Great Lash.

Re: Developing allergies to mascara?
I've very sensitive eyes but am also using Maybelline Sky High Curves and Great Lash with no problems.

Is the mascara you're using old? I bin mine every 2-3 months.

Re: Developing allergies to mascara?
I had the same problem, which seemed to occur first with Mac Zoomlash, but then continued no matter what I used.
The only thing I can recommend is switching to a hypoallergenic mascara, like Almay or Physician's formula.
Sometimes a base can help, too, if you're not already using one.
