expiration date (/me needs help)
I got myself some more mac recently, and on the lipstick there were some expiration dates. What i got, is that lipstick lasts abot 3 years, and so does pigment. Has any of you used it for a longer time? I dont have much make-up, but thats more than i use, and maybe i wont finish it in this time... And i dont wanna buy everything again in 2-3 years.. whats the point in collectin then How long does your cosmetic stuff last?
Also, i have another question - today i bought brush set from 07 holiday collection (that was a pure treasure, there is nothing left in other shops since february). As i live in non-english speaking country, they apply on every product a sticker describing it. So the sticker on my brush set says: best before 08.2010... I mean, wtf? Mac brushes only for 2 years? Here its way more expensive, i payed almost 100$ for that set is a golden jar.. Arent brushes "best before the start to shed hair like a dog?". Maybe thats just the country cosmetic goods policy?

Re: expiration date (/me needs help)
Lipsticks can go rancid and start to smell weird after 2-4 years depending on how you store them (cool/humid places), they dont taste very well either lol.. But 2 years is already enough time to use up a couple of lipsticks.

As for brushes, the short handled ones dont last as long i hear, i mean you can use it past the 2 year expiration date, but i've read on here after 2-3 years of constant use the brushes tend to fall apart and shed, vs the regular brushes i've had some for 5 years now and they feel like brand new.

If you ever need a CP i can do it for you since the price of mac is half as cheap here.

Re: expiration date (/me needs help)
the expiration date has to do with the country that you live in. in the states, our lipsticks don't have an expiration date. once they start to taste/smell funny, its time to toss em.

brushes don't expire! the gift set brushes are all mass-produced, and after awhile of tough use, they will break down and fall apart. that's why they are great for beginners/travel. they aren't that great and aren't recommended for normal everyday use. that's when you wanna invest in full-size brushes. they are pricier, but with care, they'll last you many, many years.
