MAC Pencils
I searched and couldn't find anything on this.
I know the Pro site says they're not for the eye area, but I was just wondering why, and if anyone here uses them as liner and if it's caused irratation. For some reason MAC seems more serious about these not being eyesafe than any other products (maybe because it's in pencil form?), or am I imagining it?

Re: MAC Pencils
I have used the Kohl/Kajal pencils for 6 or 7 years-daily! with no irritation and I wear contacts 18 hours a day. MAC does make the very best pencils I have ever used as far as not causing irritation and their durability in extreme environmental situations (try 125 degrees). Love them.

Re: MAC Pencils
if you're talking about the Pro pencils - my guess is that they may contain ingredients that are not safe for the eye area, and their texture may be too hard for the delicate skin around the eyes.

Re: MAC Pencils
haha yeah - it seems that for every item that's rated not eye safe (or lip safe) there's heaps of people that have used them with no problems... personally i don't think it's worth the risk of damaging your sight or poisoning yourself or irritating the delicate skin.

I aggree 100%
I never use non eyesafe stuff in the eye area but I had a horrendous allergic reaction to some eyedrops today - the drops were for allergies

Im telling you theres nothing worse than hives on the eye membranes - it feels like your eyes are burning right out of your head...

So yeah, non eyesafe pencils in the eye area - only if you enjoy tempting fate and are willing to risk your eyes burning the the heat of a thousand suns.

I've noticed that too. I use a few pigments that are not suggest for eye area's, on my eyes. It is a little concerning though.
