Reaction to Powder Blush (?)
Today, I went and bought Sunbasque Powder Blush which is a Sheertone Shimmer. This is my first Powder Blush from MAC - I have only used their Cream Blush up until now. The MA put some on me and when I came home 5 hours later I noticed some small red bumps on both cheeks where she had applied it. I am normally not sensitive to cosmetics and this is my first reaction to a MAC product. Has anyone had any experience with this? It was quite sunny today I am wondering if the shimmer somehow made me burn even though I was wearing sunscreen... I am really bummed out about this because I liked the color very much

Re: Reaction to Powder Blush (?)
I get that when I use an animal hair brush. It could have just been a reaction to that. I'd say test out some on your arm over night. Like pack on some pigment. If it does it again you're probably allergic to it. If not then it's just a coincidence.

Re: Reaction to Powder Blush (?)
Do you know if you have problems with bismuth oxychloride? I do and find the more shimmery the blush the more likely I am to have a reaction.

I have no idea. I have never reacted to a cosmetic product before so this freaked me out a bit. I am thinking about getting something without shimmer instead.

I guess it could have been the brush although I have the exact same kind of brush at home! Maybe it wasn't clean (gross!).
I would love to do a test like you suggest but the store won't let me return an opened and used product. I'll have to go back and try it again or get something else.

If you're allergic to something they have to take it back. MAC is really good about that. It took me a month to figure out I was allergic to P+P eye, but they still took it back once I told them why.

Re: Reaction to Powder Blush (?)
I have Sweet as Cocoa blush and I rarely wear it because it seems to break my already sensitive skin out even more. I am guessing it's the shimmer in the blush that causes this.

Re: Reaction to Powder Blush (?)
I am suspecting the shimmer, too. I took the blush back to the store and got a cream blush instead.
It is odd, though, because I can wear shimmery eye shadows etc. with no problems.
