Urban Decay
I'm not sure where to post this, so feel free to move to it's respective forum.

but anyway, I read this as a posted bulleton from Urban Decay:

http://blog.myspace.com/index.cfm?fu...ogID=324494486

Quote:
We recently caught up with one of our favorite up-and-coming makeup artists, Jeni Chua, and she passed along a helpful hint WE didn't even think of. For hygienic purposes, she recommends not using the brush provided when applying our Liquid Liner on multiple clients. Instead, you can use a sterile eye liner brush thanks to the wide mouth on the Liquid Liner bottle. This makes it easy for you to dip, sterilize your brush, and dip again, so you won't compromise the health of your client!

Jeni goes on to gush about our Liquid Liners—"Oooooh the new Liquid Liners are GREAT!!!! The colors are so fun!" So, take her advice . . . that last thing you want is to be known as is "the makeup artist who gave me pink eye"

Tiny Disclaimer: While our Good Karma brushes don't quite fit, you can find plenty of fantastic brushes at Sephora.com that are round at the base (but they better be synthetic!).

You can check Jeni out at myspace.com/msjenimakeup.
Am I the only one that was really disturbed over the fact that they didn't think of using a brush when applying on clients? Urban Decay should know better considering they produce makeup!

Re: Urban Decay
Yeah, I read this in a bulletin they put out and you would've thunk that one of the largest cosmetic companies in the country would've been smart enough to be on the hygenic ball.

Then again, I know of several MUAs who look shocked when I bring up proper hygenic techniques. Folks need to start getting with the times.

Re: Urban Decay
ewew.
to be fair- I put liquid e/l in a puddle on a palette and use a brush from there so I can dip it back into the e/l (puddle) without having to sanitize the brush like I would need to if I were to put it directly into the container..
but yeah, it does sound like this never occurred to UD!
I find it hard to believe that UD has no sanitation rules for their counters, etc. though. I guess we can just cross our fingers and hope that whomever wrote that bulletin is just a putz behind a desk who never touches clients??

hope..

Re: Urban Decay
For that very reason I will not, will not, get my makeup done at a counter. I'll take tips, tricks, and advice but I freaked out the first time someone did my makeup. He sterilized the brush but dipped it into the make-up that had been sitting out for months. Oh my GOD, I thought, what the hell is IN THERE?

I swallowed fear to have UD do my makeup and wigged a little when she used the brush on the liquid liner. Augh

Re: Urban Decay
Personally I don't think they care about sanitation at all whenever I would love to buy urban decay but when ever I visit one of their stands here in Ireland they are covered in bits of powder open messed up make up and the makeup is all over the place you think someone would maintain them! It puts me off everytime
