MAC foundation for airbrushes

I just got a Dinair airbrush and would like to use my Mac or Prescriptives liquid foundation, can you mix it with anything to get it to be airbrush ready? Distilled water, some kind of medium? Tried some the airbrush makeup and it horrible....
