Oh No!not sure if i made the right choice, bought Studio Fix Powder Plus Help!*look*
hi, i bought mac studio fix powder plus NC15
and im REaly nervus, ive never used foundation before (saw videos on how to apply) i was stuck between studio fix powder (compact) or geting studiofix fluid spf 15 (liquid) i was reading mix reviews of both for like 3 days , because i wanted to make sure i picked the right one..i posted in another forum about the 2 but no one replyed and it was now or never to buy..the only reason i picked fix powder over fluid spf 15 was because a m.a.c artist recomended it to me.
but now since i spent my 32$ (with shiping+tax) im scared..because what if i break out using the studio fix powder..i felt intimadated by the liquide foundation that i just stuck with geting the powder foundation..ok here are my questions:
is the studio fix powder slightly creamy or is it just feel like powder to the touch?
what brushes do i use if i want a medium cover acording to you?
what brushes for a light to airbrush application should i use acording to you?
if you use it everyday or everyother day how long would the foundation last (if applicable)
ive seen ppl use the studio fix powder plus over liquide foundation ..i thought studio fix powder was a foundation on its own..so why do ppl somtimes apply it to set their makeup.
and if you dont have the charged water, sprits thing, does the powder still work properly?
thx alot

what brushes do i use if i want a medium cover acording to you? Use A #187 Or Something Similar.
what brushes for a light to airbrush application should i use acording to you? A Nice Powder Brush ( Like MAC#129 )
if you use it everyday or everyother day how long would the foundation last (if applicable) Well Mine Lasts 12 Hours. (+ My Blot Powder With It ) Well I Don't Really Know If It Lasts Longer Because 12 Hours Is The Longest I Wear Makeup When I Go OUT-OUT.
ive seen ppl use the studio fix powder plus over liquide foundation ..i thought studio fix powder was a foundation on its own..so why do ppl somtimes apply it to set their makeup. For Extra Extra Coverage.
and if you dont have the charged water, sprits thing, does the powder still work properly? For Me Yeah, And I Don't Use This. I Just Carry My Pressed Blot Powder Around To Get The Oily Out. Works Great For Me..
thx alot

Jeez You Sound Paranoid As Hell Calm Down If You Don't Like It Just Send It Back And Try Something Else. Make Sure You Well Moisturize Your Face Before You Apply It So Your Face Doesn't Look You Know. Scary And Dry Like Its Gunna Crack ( what happens to me ) . Hah No Seriously Though.
I Think Its Good You Got The Powder I Got The Liquid First Used It For Awhile It Made Me Break Out Thank God I Have Good Ance Medicine From My Dematologist. So Now I Just Use Liquid For Important Stuff Not Just Going Out Everyday. BUT I THINK, The Powder Is Better Than Liquid Cause All Liquids Clog Your Pours. So Yeah. [: Have Fun With Your Powder And Don't Freak Out.

Re: Oh No!not sure if i made the right choice, bought Studio Fix Powder Plus Help!*loo
what brushes do i use if i want a medium cover acording to you?
180, 182
what brushes for a light to airbrush application should i use acording to you?
187, 150
if you use it everyday or everyother day how long would the foundation last (if applicable)
I don't use studio fix but it takes me about 8 to 9 months to finish a powder foundation used on most days.
ive seen ppl use the studio fix powder plus over liquide foundation ..i thought studio fix powder was a foundation on its own..so why do ppl somtimes apply it to set their makeup.
More coverage usually or because of a really good colour match or the way it keeps skin matte better than other powders they've tried etc.
and if you dont have the charged water, sprits thing, does the powder still work properly?
It will but may not look as good without a nice moisturizer and/or primer. I recommend both with powder foundation.

Re: Oh No!not sure if i made the right choice, bought Studio Fix Powder Plus Help!*loo
My two cents worth,....
what brushes do i use if i want a medium cover acording to you?
180, 182 -I agree, or the 134
what brushes for a light to airbrush application should i use acording to you?
187
if you use it everyday or everyother day how long would the foundation last (if applicable)
I am a serious powder Ho but have had mine at least 4 months,.. all winter.
ive seen ppl use the studio fix powder plus over liquide foundation ..i thought studio fix powder was a foundation on its own..so why do ppl somtimes apply it to set their makeup.
I wouldn't generally recommend putting a foundation on top of a foundation,.. that gets really heavy looking,.. the powder is great by itself. People might mean they are setting their liquid foundation with Select Sheer Powder and just say the wrong thing??
and if you dont have the charged water, sprits thing, does the powder still work properly?
Yes it should be fine so long as you have a good moisturizer or primer going on as a base. The Charged water or Fix+ on top is usually to tone down the powdery look or to get that dewy finish.

Re: Oh No!not sure if i made the right choice, bought Studio Fix Powder Plus Help!*loo
is the studio fix powder slightly creamy or is it just feel like powder to the touch?
- powder
what brushes do i use if i want a medium cover acording to you?
- 182, but I suggest just ordering an Everday Minerals Flat Top. $10 compared to $45. I have had both and I strongly prefer the EM flat top. Orrr you can buy a TooFaced retractable kabuki for $22. If you decide to get EM flat top, use it like a skunk brush. Pick up product, stipple onto face, buff.
what brushes for a light to airbrush application should i use acording to you?
- 187 (~$40) or you can try a Sonia Kushik (~$13) or Flirt! (~$8) Skunk Brush.
if you use it everyday or everyother day how long would the foundation last (if applicable)
- I'm just almost hitting the pan and I used it for about 6 months. I switched to Everyday Minerals in late Feb or early March I think.
ive seen ppl use the studio fix powder plus over liquide foundation ..i thought studio fix powder was a foundation on its own..so why do ppl somtimes apply it to set their makeup.
- They probably want a really heavy coverage. I also suggest not to use two foundations. Too much, unless both applies evenly and very lightly. I still do not suggest it though,.. too much for skin.
and if you dont have the charged water, sprits thing, does the powder still work properly?
- Yup.. you can just get a spray bottle and use water. The Fix+ and charged waters just have some added things like aloe. IMO these are overrated. When I started makeup last year, a very nice MA helped me and suggested Fix+ so I bought it. After learning more about Fix+... not worth the money.

Re: Oh No!not sure if i made the right choice, bought Studio Fix Powder Plus Help!*loo
the #182 will give you more of a full coverage, the #150 gives more medium coverage, and the #187 will give you the sheerest coverage (more airbrushed).
if you are more dry, i would try the studio fix fluid over studio fix. you still need a good moisturizer for either one, but the fluid won't show your flakes (if you're dry) as bad as the the powder does.
fix+ takes down the powdery looke of studio fix (or any other powder). its not just water with added things like someone else said. its also a moisturizer and, depending on your skin type, can be used as just that.

In my experience, powder foundation clogs my pores. Liquid foundation never did so. I have combination skin.
