Which Paint Pot?
Hello everybody! I'm in a bit of a dilemma today. I'm making plans for my senior prom (and only my school is ridiculous enough to have prom on the first Saturday of April while everyone else's proms are in May or June -.-) and I've decided on a fushia/magenta/purple dress. Thus I want my eye makeup to relatively coordinate with my dress (that and I've been told purple brings out the brown in my eyes and looks nice with my skin tone). Anyways, I want to buy a M.A.C. Paint Pot to use as a base for my eye makeup. Should I go with a neutral/natural paint pot or a purple-like paint pot? If I go with the neutral/natural paint pot, which one should I get: Soft Ochre, Bare Study, Rubenesque, Painterly etc? Does the fact that I'm Asian and have yellow undertones factor in at all? Thanks for you time! (P.S. Sorry I'm so long-winded.)

Re: Which Paint Pot?
I would keep the paint pot neutral since you are going to use purple/magenta eye shadows....rubenesque and painterly are both kind of no color bases, so your shadow would show up and stay on better probably...why not go to the mac counter and let someone help you? good luck and you have 6 weeks to practice!

Re: Which Paint Pot?
Since you're Asian, I'd go for Soft Ochre if you choose to go neutral. Apparently Nice Vice is a really good base for purples, if you go that route. It's LE, so if it sells out before you can get your hands on it, then I'd go with Fresco Rose. It's a light lavender pinkish-purple, but I find that it makes my purple shadows more intense. Hope that helps

Re: Which Paint Pot?
I actually think that Soft Ochre would suit you best- Soft Ochre and Painterly are both very natural- Painterly is a but more pink and Soft Ochre is a bit more yellow- bur the difference of the eyeshadows above them is MINOR!

It's hard to answer your original question because it's just a matter of how you wear wywshadows.... I like to use Iris Eyes fluidline as base for purple look- it makes the purple pops...
If you don't think you'll use a purple base after prom- don't buy it, a natural p/p will be usefull every day.. I would never buy a product for one use only, but that's me..

Re: Which Paint Pot?
Thanks for the responses. I think I'll go with Soft Ochre since it'll make a nice neutral yellow base. And to be honest, I think going with a neutral colored base is a lot smarter because I can use it with all sorts of colors and looks, not just one color/shade.

Soft Ochre is the best for Asian Skintones. You can also go for Rubenesque which goes with all e/s colors IMO.
