Using PAINT STICKS (pro) what r they good 4??
hi

i have a prob w/getting my colors on eye to pop and am looking and looking for perfect base....bare canvas paint is fading me and paint pots left me creasing, so i just found paint sticks on macpro.com...

whats the deal with paint sticks, what are their their uses ??

(i was toying with the idea of buying pure white paint stick to use as a base for under my shadows, and clear sky blue paint stick for a base for my blue e/s.. am i on the right track?

please help-thanks very much!

yes you can use them like that. i find that they crease though.. they're meant for more professional use (body paint, stage makeup, etc) Have you tried mac shadesticks? there's different colors you can layer under eyeshadow

everything mistella said.

definately go with shadesticks instead. but you better act fast if you want the colored ones. they are being fazed out.

Have you tried Urban Decay Primer Potion (UDPP)? I hear it works well for some people who have creasing issues.

I much prefer Paint Sticks to Shade Sticks. I use the brown one very frequently for everything from eyeshadow base to contouring and 'dirt' effects.

Re: Using PAINT STICKS (pro) what r they good 4??
So I noticed today that some paint sticks are available on the maccosmetics.com and those same colors are no longer marked as pro. Are these going to be permanent or does this happen every year around halloween? I'm wondering b/c I've been eyeing that genuine orange paint stick so I'm thinking about snatching it up even if my pockets can't afford it! But if its permanent, I'll definitely wait until I get some more moolah.

It's because some of the new Halloween facecharts use Paint Sticks, so they're making all the products available to non-Pro customers (so they can replicate the looks). I see Chromacakes are up too. This has happened before, I think for...spring trends earlier this year? Anyway, yeah, they're still Pro items so you won't be able to go to the regular store or counter to get them, and they'll come down off the MAC website after a while.
