Tutorial Contest Winner March 2008: Sketchy Truth!

What we're aiming for:

I always prefer to do my eye makeup first, so that my foundation can take care of any fallout issues. However, it's all personal preference, so do whatever you choose!

EYES

STEP ONE:
Prime your lids with primer of choice (in this case, UDPP), and blend! Ignore the liner and mascara.

STEP TWO: Pat Deep Truth e/s liberally all over the lid with the 239. For some reason, Deep Truth doesn't show up very well on me, so I have to really pack it on for it to show up as a blue.

STEP THREE: Taking the same brush, apply Sketch all over the lower lid. Apply it as high as you feel comfortable with! Sketch is quite possibly my new favoritest (yes, favoritest) eyeshadow, and it applies like butter.

STEP FOUR: Take Au Contraire e/s (it was LE, but Grape or Entremauve pigment works well, too), and apply in the middle of the lid. This will help blend the blue and purple together, since Au Contraire is a deep purple with blue-ish undertones.

STEP FIVE: Take your 217 brush, and blend a small amount of Freshwater e/s in the crease. This helps softens the edge of Deep Truth.

STEP SIX:Apply your highlighter of choice all over the browbone, but make sure to blend downwards so that Deep Truth blends with the highlighter. You don't want a harsh line between the eyeshadow and highlight. I'm using Goldbit, but anything works.

STEP SEVEN: Deepen your crease with Carbon e/s and the 222 brush. I have small lid space, so I prefer not to use too much, but once again, whatever you're comfortable with.

Please remember that it's easy to add on, but hard to remove! Therefore, start out easy with the Carbon, and add more if necessary.

STEP EIGHT: Line your top lid with Blacktrack fluidline. Fluidline and waterline does not mix for me, so I use Graphblack technakohl on my lower waterline.

STEP NINE: Using the 228, apply Deep Truth and Au Contraire under the lashline. I like the 228 better than the 219 because I find the 219 too thick/wide to apply underneath the lashline.

STEP TEN: Curl lashes and apply mascara (Clinique High Impact)! False lashes are optional, but recommended.

FACE

STEP ONE: Dot foundation (Studio Fix Fluid NC25) on forehead, cheeks, nose, and chin. Blend with brush, and/or sponge since the foundation brush can be a bit streaky at times. I applied Prep & Prime Skin beforehand.

STEP TWO: Smile! Apply Cantaloupe blush onto the apple of your cheeks. I'm using the 129, but I suggest you use something else!

My 129 sheds like crazy, and leaves me with little black hairs all over my face.

STEP THREE: Make a fishy face, and apply Emote blush to contour in the hollows of your cheekbones. Blend out with your brush as you're contouring so the line is not as harsh.

STEP FOUR: Apply Light Flush MSF with the 187, and repeat with New Vegas MSF. MSFs =

STEP FIVE: Apply Sugar Trance lipglass...

...and we're done!
