i'm a sucker for purples, and after purchasing this, i wondered how i survived without this shade for so long. Nocturnelle is a deep pinkish/purple shade with shimmer - though it's not as frosty as some of the other "frost" eyeshadows out there. i love pairing this with other MAC purples, and i use it to define my crease or line my lower lash line - it definitely makes my brown eyes POP! ♥♥♥

in the past i havent been a fan of purple shadows.. but i decided to break out of the box... and am in love... i like wearing it with intoxicate and black tied for a smokey eyed look..or with a very very light application of goldmine...

Amazing shade of purple, makes green eyes pop. Perfect colors for nights out.

This color though, doesnt blend very well. You can easly look bruised if you dont pay close attention to the way you aplied-it. Awfully hard to use in the crease, I use it more as a thick eye-liner that is later blended or sometimes across the upper lid.

This is one of my favorites. It really accentuates my green eyes. I find it kind of sheer, but over a CCB, PERFECTO! and it looks amazing over Silver Bleu shadestick. That's what I'm wearing today

Beautiful in the pan, but I have a hard time getting it to work for me. Plus, I find that its texture is a tad grittier than the other frost eyeshadows I have.

colour was not as strong as i hoped. it makes me look like i have a bruised eye. i found it hard to build up the colour although it might look good as a sheer colour.

I would describe Nocturnelle as "essential deep shimmer plum". It's not the world's most exciting purple in the pan, but once on, it's just so pretty and very *useful*, easily the purple I use most.... makes a great smoky eye, liner, and I probably use it most as the "crease colour" with other brighter/lighter purples/plums. Unlike other reviewers here, I find it highly pigmented and easy to blend, and it has a pretty silky finish which I love.

Fave Nocturnelle look: Macroviolet fluidline on lid + Beauty Marked packed on top, fading to blended Nocturnelle all along the socketline.... luscious smoky burgundy ahoy :-)

I tend to use this in the crease when I wear cranberry - looks really nice. tbh i haven't worn this on the lid alone yet but i think it would look really nice on my nw47 skin

I really like this shade of purple. I find it goes on smoothly and looks great as an all-over lid color (NC15).

i find its kind of hard to match with.
i really like doing this "heavy lided" shape with nortunelle and deep truth just above the crease. gives the illusion of a heavy lid.
