Would you buy this product again? Yes, I'm considering a backup purchase for the first time ever, I'm terrified this one won't be continued...
Oh, Passionate eyeshadow, how Passionate I am for thee. You are the perfect velvetty-textured true scarlet eyeshadow I've been looking for all these years, and now I wonder how I ever did without you.
If you like me, (so happy now with my new scarlet eyeshadow love) are someone who is excited rather than scared by the idea of trying red eyeshadow, then Passionate's a really good place to start: over the years I've tried reds from several cheaper brands and none of them have come anywhere near this for ease of application or lastability. (Pure Luxe - OK but messy, Barry M - looks great on other people but changed colour on me to an ikky murky rust, Fyrinnae - clumpy and stained my lids, Stargazer - chalky, didn't last, have doubts about its eye safety aspects anyway)
Shade-wise, Passionate's a matte scarlet with corrally/orange undertones which I (NW25) think make it surprisingly soft and easy to wear - it's very similar to the colour of Mac's (wonderful) "Frankly Scarlet" blush. The shadow can be used either quite sheerly to add a blush of warm red to a look (there are some wonderful Member FOTD's here combining Passionate with all sorts of other colours), or alternatively can be applied more intensely for a sassy, punky look - my personal favourite is to apply it over the whole lid really packed on, but feather and blend it to be softer round the edges, and add "Lady Danger" lipstick for a simple but really dramatic pseudo "Chinese Opera" look.
CAVEAT: I like red. It's my favourite colour. I love it with a passion and have clothing, makeup, furnishings a plenty in beautiful juicy scarlet. You may not feel quite as excited by Passionate as myself if you're not someone who's SO into red, but I still recommend it, I think it's a useful colour to have for anyone who enjoys bold and exciting makeup looks, and I find this a beautiful and surprisingly versatile colour.
EDIT: looking at the other reviews here, everyone else says this eyeshadow's more pink than red but on me it really is a coral-hued true scarlet with not a bit of pinkiness lol! Though I have noticed in the past "hot" colours shift tone a bit on me (Passionate's one of the few colours I can get to stay really bright) so perhaps this is partially due to body chemistry.... I am NW25 and have really oily skin....
