I'm dumbstruck nobody's reviewed this before: IMHO, MAC "Glam" is a very strong contender for the most beautiful lipstick in the entire world, and the only real "competition" for my all time favourite, Ruby Woo.
And if you're a Ruby Woo fan, then "Glam" is definitely one that's well worth checking out: it has the same beautiful creamy colour-drenched MAC matte formula as its more scarlet "big sister", and is every bit as pigmented, if not more. The MAC site describes MAC as "Vivid bright pinky-red (Matte)": I personally would describe it as "poppy red", "rose red" or simply "cherry" - what we're basically talking here is an incredibly bright and vivid retro matte red absolutely *drenched* with vibrant pink undertones - Glam really sits RIGHT on the fence between hot pink and red, and resolutely refuses to make up its mind on which it is, cheerfully insistent on keeping a foot firmly in both camps ;-)
Cheerful, beautiful, feminine, unique and bright, Glam's so intensely saturated with colour that it will stain your lips after wearing it, and is such a dramatic show-stopper of a lipstick that a department store MAC consultant once quietly asked me "Where on Earth did I get the wonderful lipstick I was wearing, it lit up my face, and she simply HAD to go out and buy one", lol! Needless to say she was delighted when I told her it was actually one of THEIRS, Glam being a shade she'd simply overlooked..... but when one considers the beautiful range of red lipsticks MAC offers, Glam *is* an easy lippie to overlook on the basis of how it LOOKS in the tube: it's not until it's worn or swatched that the unusual pinkish vibrancy and gorgeousness of this one becomes apparent.
Honestly, a stunning and very unusual show-stopper of a lipstick, well worth checking out, particularly if (like me) you're a girl who enjoys red, or if (again, like me) you've a soft spot for the prettiness and glamour of retro makeup looks.
