I rarely avoid using any pigment. I am not a brown fan, but I use it a lot as it is great for natural looks. However, in the case of MAC's Tan pigment, I have to make an exception. This is the most awful pigment in the world as far as color goes. I have only seen it look good (in person) on one person. It just makes the eyes look sick. Instead of making me look at the eyes, it makes me wonder if they got enough sleep.
Now, having said that, I know that this pigment is a favorite among many makeup afficianados. I am glad it works for them! Perhaps now that I have such an amazing collection of beautiful colors like Suntone Copper, Natural Suntan, Cappucino and Tibetan Ochre pigments, I might be able to use Tan as an accent instead of a shadow.
I have not given up yet. There HAS to be a good use I can get out of this color. As of now, however, I have not settled on one that I am happy with.
I have to laugh- when we are watching a movie, suddenly, I might burst forth with the comment "Oh NO! The makeup artist used TAN on her eyes. She looks sick. Why in the world with all of the beautiful browns out there would they use THAT??? It is SO distracting....." Poor guy.
My husband is mystified that I know this stuff..
