Sweetscents Pigments: Carmine Red (loose color powder)
Overall 5
Price value 5
Packaging quality 5
Buy again? Yes
Carmine red is exactly the same color as MAC Fushcia pigment. The only difference is that MAC is the older more flaky formulation and Carmine red is finer milled. Carmine red might look a tiny bit lighter for that reason, but the difference is very slight.
It can be used as a wash or packed on a base BEFORE it sets so that it will stay put a lot longer. You can use this the same as you would MAC pigments. They behave very similarly.
I have a bit more information about sweetscents in my other reviews.
If this is your first sweetscents review, they are phenomenal bargains. The same quality as MAC (each color varies in characteristics as with MAC pigments) sweetscents cost approx $2 each. You can find out more about them at http://www.sweetscents.com/mica_2.html Go to the bottom of the page at the mica pack combos for a selection of pricing packs.
Not all colors I am reviewing are listed on the site right now - it is supposed to be revamped soon, but if you tell the sweetscents lady that you read my review and I reviewed this color, then she will not like wonder how in the world you knew to ask for it. HAHAHA.
