Monarch Gold is a metallic gold color. More rosy goldish than MAC's Golden Lemon pigment, Monarch Gold has finer mill to it. It goes on very smoothly and does not look chunky like MAC's Golden Lemon does.

Monarch is the more cohesive style pigment. That means that the coverage is more solid shimmer than chunky glittery. It is a nice warm gold that really does look regal. Using mixing medium with this color will give you the liquid metal look. Awesome color.

If you have access to MAC Fluidline in Brassy, Monarch Gold is the same exact color family, but a shade or two lighter. Goes beautifully with Brassy Fluidline.

If you want to check out these pigments, they are about $2 each for a 10g jar (MAC wants $18.50 for a 7.5g jar) and the quality is as good as MAC in most of the colors.
