European MAC stores are behind...

Just found out something annoying. The MAC counters in Switzerland are discontinuing items that are part of the permanent collection elsewhere (like USA)!

I went to my local MAC counter in Bern because I wanted to check out and possibly buy "Snob" lipstick. I was told by the MA that Snob had been discontinued in Switzerland! I wasn't sure about this, so I called the biggest MAC counter in Zurich and the MA also confirmed this.

Snob is part of the permanent collection, in USA and in Germany. So this means, products are being discontinued differently according to region or country!

And since there's no website to check which products are being discontinued for us, we're pretty much left in the dark. I wonder what other products they have discontinued here!

So much for that. I sent an email to MAC Germany because Switzerland doesn't have a MAC website. I am really mad about this! Already we have to pay almost double the prices as in the States, but now they are taking away items from the perm. collection too! And we can't order online anywhere, unless it's someplace like Ebay or trading.

Hopefully I'll get an email back in response.

Oh great. I just got an email confirming they have received my query and will be answering it shortly...and it's in Spanish!! I contacted them directly through the German MAC website, and selected the correct country from the drop down menu.

Hi Julia,
If you want, I can check the Belgian store in Antwerp to see if they will still be selling Snob lipstick. another good excuse for me to drop by this afternoon :-). If you can't find it in Zurich, just give me a buzz in Belgium and I'll see what I can do.

the prices here are rediculous too...i think its 14 dollars for a lipgloss in the US but its 10 pounds here. the exchanfe rate is 2 dollars to one pound.
so how does this work out :s

I just checked in the Belgian store, and no indications that Snob is going to go out of circulation here. I'll keep an eye out and I'll let you know in case anything changes.

I've checked the French website and they have it. I can call the shop tomorrow to know if they have it on their stock, if you're still interested. Plus I have a 40% discount on it: it's 17€ here and I can have it for 10,20€. Just let me know.
