Re: MAC - Starflash Discussion
OK, Grand Entrance is absolutely my favorite of all of them - based on its versatility! I've used it to blend multiple colors together, as a highlight with a nice sheen without over-the-top reflection, as a wash (REALLY cool), and wet (with a shadow transformer) as an upper lid liner. I'm definitely getting a spare tomorrow. I thought this one would have been my least favorite (how many more neutral shadows do I need?) but I have to say I'm impressed.

Re: MAC - Starflash Discussion
So, I'm thinking about swining by MAC today and getting a couple of these (4 max) and I'm wondering which are the ones that I NEED out of this that are the least dupable?

Re: MAC - Starflash Discussion
Well, I am trying to catch up with this thread! I did hit MAC yesterday as well as sending my DH to a F/S store in TO that accepts the depotted pots for B2M. I ended up getting Bold & Brazen, Glamour Check, Grand Entrance, Mink and Sable and Smoke & Diamonds (all B2M) and I myself picked up Sunset B, Dreammaker and Top Hat.
I found the finish on these to be just amazing, they felt almost creamy! I did not swatch Lotusland, so cannot comment on that. I didn't find Sunset B to swatch chalky at all, but have not tried it on yet so I'll have to report back on that one as it seems some people are finding it a little dry. But the colour was just too beautiful to pass up!
I know there's been some talk of the possibility that these become permanent, and I sincerely hope they do.
Rbella, good for you for having the willpower to skip these and I really do hope that you can get your hands on them later on. At the end of the day, it's really just make-up. There will be a point where I'll have to seriously take a break and I think it's going be soon!

I was pleasantly surprised with Glamour Check and Bold & Brazen. Smoke & Diamonds is also incredibly gorgeous, probably my favourite silvery shade that MAC has come out with. It's partly personal preference, because there is a wide range of shades to choose from. If you like teals, Talent Pool is beautiful as well.

Re: MAC - Starflash Discussion
I wore Sunset B underneath Perky P/P today. I didn't find it chalky, It went on really well for me. I think it is a gorgeous pink!

[quote=erine1881;1233916]they aren't waterproof or water resistant. they can be worn on the waterline, which is where i wear it, along with my top lash line. it won't all come off if you wear it on your waterline. mine stays all day long.
QUOTE]
I wish I had your luck with it because in 2-3 hours mine is compeltely gone from the waterline.

Then people won't buy the shadow because of these completely inaccurate comparisons. Erine corrects it all the time too
BTW - I own 3 Mothbrowns
Smoke & Diamonds looks like a strand of silvery grey pearls with just a hint of taupe.
I only asked if they were comparable because someone else said something in the thread earlier and there was a picutre of the 2 side-by-side in the swatch thread. sorry if I confused anyone

Erine...how do you apply it to make it stay all day. It does stay decent on me for a couple hours, but not much more. Any tips? I have been trying to find my HG for the waterline with limited success. So far, technakohl with Carbon on top does a decent job, MUFE's gel liner does the best, but still is not perfect. Any help for a girl who LOVES a black waterline...but ends up looking like either a raccoon or I have been crying with black leaking all over?

try using carbon alone. its not approved for the waterline, but its less harsh than blacktrack (not approved either). other than that, i can't recommend anything else mac-wise.
all i do is apply it as the last eye makeup step. for some reason it stays put with no problems on me. i don't top it with anything either. maybe since i apply it last, i'm pretty much finished with irritating my eyes with all the makeup, so they've kinda settled down with watering and irritation. does that make sense? you might just have to carry one around with you to reapply throughout the day. i also carry qtips in my purse for any touchups.
