Well.. my friend from MAC purchased a second 187 for me w/ her discount, and THEY ARE NOT THE SAME!! The newer one is different, it isnt as dense and I dont like the 2nd one that much. I use it for blush and bronzing, my original one I love for foundations.
I noticed the change in brushes cus I bought a 2nd 217 and the handle is thinner and a bit shorter and the bristels arent as fluffy,t hey are flatter.

I am dissapointed, the MA at the PRO store said MAC wont admit to changing up the brushes, but its obvious they have
It is funny that you say that. I have been thinking alot recently about the 187. I personally love mine. It does wonders for my foundation. But when I am at MAC and I am looking at the brushes, I have noticed that the quality of the 187 there is no where near as good as mine. I was considering buying a backup. But definitely wont now. I even showed my husband the 187 while we were there and he said the same thing...

Mine is different from the one currently in store too. Mine is a lot denser. Check our CCO, they might have the older version of 187

The huge raves on it are actually what convinced me to buy it. I would just recommend that if you have a friend who has one and is willing to let you try it, I would try it first. Or ask a MAC MA to show you application with it. I originally purchased it with the skinfinishes because I heard that it was "the" brush to use with them. In all honesty, I have not found it to do anything that any of my other bronzer/blush/powder brushes couldn't do....but that's just my opinion and you know what they say about those...
you are not the only one...i dont like mine at all...

i noticed the same thing today. i was at the MAC counter today looking at some of the brushes and their display one is SO much thicker than the one i have. (but it could also be just cuz my brush has been shedding without me noticing). anyway, i bought this brush because the MA taught me how to use it and it gives me a very airbrushed look which no other brush can give me.

Re: 187 brush
Can somebody please post exactly how to use the 187? I have had it for about a month and I am not getting the "airbrushed" look everyone raves about. I wonder if I am using it wrong? Thanks

like the you tube video, i pump some foundation on my hand and take the 187 to pick up the foundation and i dab it on my face. but i move the brush in circular motions to blend in the foundation.

Re: 187 brush
Today I went to my counter and checked the #187

Glamdoll said the new one's handle was thinner and shorter, well, I've compared the one in store and the two year old #187 of the lovely MUA who was helping me and they were exactly the same.

So anyone interested in #187 and lives in Barcelona, they still have the old version!!!

(I bought one, of course)

Re: 187 brush
I got my 187 3 days ago and since i've never had one before i don't really have anything to compare it to in real life; however i don't know if my eyes are deceiving me or if i'm being paranoid but when i see videos or pictures of (what i pressume are older versions of this brush), they look noticeably much denser and just overall of a higher quality than mine? Am i just being paranoid?

I agree with the whole density thing. I just got mines too, and it does look slightly different from all the pics and videos I've seen, but I just assumed that's because it was brand new.

Re: 187 brush
