Are the 187 stippling brush and 182 kabuki BOTH necessary?
I bought both a few days ago on impulse and I don't even know what the real function of each brush is! I wear mostly studiofix and I just started wearing blush. I also have stuio stick foundation which I am starting to try out. What brush to use for what? I'm confused. Do I need both brushes? Should I return one?

They're both fab! I use the 182 for buffing on my powder foundation (mineral, but it'd work awesome with the Studio Fix), and the 187 is amazing for blushes, highlighting, MSF's, pretty much everything.

I wouldnt see much use for a kabuki brush if you don't use a mineral foundation tbh.

I use my Kabuki brush with my Studio Fix powder. It's awesome!!!

I wouldn't part with the 187 for anything! It's one seriously good brush.

As for the 182, if I had one I'd use it to dust on loose powder, but there are some more threads here (you can do a search) that might help or suggest other uses for it too, if you decide to keep it.

i have sort of the same issue, and i have both brushes as well... i don't wear blush but i love love love the 187 for MSF's, and i find the 182 to work really well for bronzer. i use the 190 for studio fix and i find that works the best... but like i said, i really like the 182 for bronzer because it gives me a really even application.

From pictures I've seen, the 180 is white goat hair and flat headed. The Kabuki brush is black hair and round. The 180 has a longer handle and the Kabuki is a stub handle. Both buff. I think the only difference is the appearance of each brush. I am not an MA, so there may be more technical things that I don't know.

I use the 187 for light cheek color application. I don't have the 182 yet, but I use a kabuki to apply powder or to buff in matte products so they don't look too powdery.

I think the 182 is a must have, I've used it everyday since I got it. I buff on my powder foundation with it, it helps blend it really well.

Kabuki Joy
I use my Kabuki for creating a seemless, perfect look with powders over foundation. I even use it after I bronze or blush to create an "inner glow".

I prefer the 180 to the 182. The bristles on the 180 are shorter and more dense than the 182 so I find I get a better buff. I use the 180 with liquid foundation, powder, and blush, but can't picture using the 182 with anything other than powder.

I apply my SFF with the 190, then buff it in with the 182 to eliminate streakage and whatnot. I use my 187 for blushes and MSFs... too scared to marr it with liquids!

I apply my Studio Fix Fluid with the 182 and it looks flawless. I also use it to do some of my highlighters.
