Re: Anyone have a database they use for MAC?
On my Sidekick's notepad.

I find it more useful as I take my phone with me everywhere... and quickly check on the item to see if I have it or not.

My friend said I was weird for staying up and adding new items onto my phone (we were sleeping over that night). She writes her stuff down in a notebook and always forgets to bring it with her to MAC, that's why she be getting duplicates accidentally at times... and I laugh at her for getting moded and asked if I can keep her duplicates. Muah ha.

Re: Anyone have a database they use for MAC?
i have a running list of what my mom has on my sidekick's notepad. on my computer i keep a huge excel workbook of my stuff! it has all different pages for different things, ie one page for face, one for eyes, etc. i also have a page for my wishlist too!

on my main page, which is the whole collection, my columns are as follows:

item, formula, name, description, quantity, limited edition, notes, collection, paired with, date purchased

it really helps to keep everything organized, and to let me know when i have enough stuff for b2m!

Wow That Is Crazy I Never Knew That People Actually Keep Inventory Of There Makeup Stuff, That Is A Clever Thing To Do, Hmmm W/ My Young Baby And Me Always Working I Wouldn't Have Time, But I Am Definitely Considering Trying This. Actually Not I Wouldn't Want To Know How Much I Spend On My Makeup.

Re: Anyone have a database they use for MAC?
I am so glad other people do this. My husband thought I was just being OCD when I started making my list in Word when I double bought my first eyeshadow. I am not very tech friendly, so my and Excel do not get along, but if we did, my list would be there!

Re: Anyone have a database they use for MAC?
I have a handwritten list. It's super long, but I'm finally getting Office for my new computer in 4 to 6 weeks. Woot! Then I'll transfer everything to excel, but of course I won't put prices in, as my husband should never stumble upon the final sum that I have spent on my MAC.

teeeheeeheeeee. im taking a computer course and we have an assignment where we are to use access to make an inventory, customer and transaction database. im actually having fun with this assignment because it's MAC involved (we can choose any purpose as long as it fits in the criteria) kekeke
i set up my tables a little differently btu the concept is still there! access is quite fun to work with but my inventory is just a sample of a few mac items lol

Re: Anyone have a database they use for MAC?
this is a great idea, i just write down stuff on a small notebook, since my makeup collection's pretty small anyway, but this is a good idea of keeping track of my shopping lists. i'm making a list in excel tonight. i'm not too familiar with access.

Re: Anyone have a database they use for MAC?
Wow! And I thought I was bad cuz I kept a list of what I wanted on my sidekick! I've started my own list on access and this is what I have so far...

E/s
l/s
l/g
Blush
Brushes
e/l
l/l
Primer
Pigments

And I have different brands within each table. I hope that I'll be able get more organized as I get more goodies. Thanks for the wonderful idea!

Re: Anyone have a database they use for MAC?
Yes I have made a wish list/inventory list keeping track of what I have and what I need. I use different colors to indicate the difference. It's very Obsessive Compulsive and my friends make fun of me for it but it's very helpful and organized, just the way I like it.+

edit:in excel by the way!
