Basic Must Have MAC

So people often ask what MAC items are basic must haves so I thought I would post my suggestions. Feel free to ad yours! Let's try to keep it to permanent products and not LE items, that way the info can actually be useful to people. I'm naming just basic colors and not the colorful colors.

Ditto Love Nectar Lustreglass and adding Instant Gold.

Adding Pinch Me and Raizin blushes (especially for deeper skitones) and dittoing Sunbasque.

Adding Soba, Texture, Antiqued and Sable eye shadows. And I think some colorful shadows can be basic, so I'm also adding Beautiful Iris and Nocturnelle.

I'd like to add the 182 for anyone who uses mineral foundation.

Eyeshadows: Honesylust, mulch, retrospeck, beautymarked, humid, carbon, vanilla.

Bare study paintpot

Blushes: Well dressed, springsheen, sunbasque, sweet william, breath of plum.

Must add Vanilla eyeshadow. It's so underrated, maybe because it looks boring in the pot, but it's a wonderful highlight that isn't overly shimmery or too white

I went to a MAC class taught by MA Christopher M. a few months ago and he asked if any of us owned Vanilla eyeshadow, I was one of three people who raised their hand and he looked at me and said, "Good girl!" I LOL'd.

Saddle is another great eyeshadow for contouring the eye with neutral looks.

I can't believe I skipped Vanilla! I also want to add Print and Scene.

when i think basics, i think a VERY few items, not the laundry lists some of you have posted!!!

if i get this question, i always, always, ALWAYS suggest Mulch and Naked Lunch eye shadows, Viva Glam 5 lipstick and lipglass and Buff blush. those colours look good on almost anyone.

the nice thing about those colours, too, is that they produce subtle results for the makeup novice so they don't get scared off.

and suggesting a very few products means that it's easy on the budget, which is really important for a lot of us!!!

these are the items i use virtually everyday:

bare canvas or stilife paint OR bare study paint pot

blot powder (i personally use light)
