Pro card questions
Has anyone here been turned down by them? I was just wondering cause i got everything together to send them but $35 seems like alot to just throw out there if i didnt get accepted. And also, are there age limits.. more specifically do you have to be 18. It seems like there wouldnt be since one of MAC's claim to fame is "all ages".. ect.

i've done alot of research and am pretty positive i'll get accepted, but i've put it off a great deal pondering these questions.

Any help would be appreciated

i know there is no age limit for sure... try looking under specktra FAQ's everything you need to know is in there... what exactly are you turning in for your 2 proofs? also if you dont get accepted they wont charge you the $35.00... give it a try and let me know how it goes!

I'm turning in a professional letter from my employer (i do make-up for a full time touring band), and my business card.

i'm definitely gonna send this in asap now, i thought what they meant by non-refundable application fee.. was you still had to pay it whether you got accepted or not. what do i have to lose

They won't take the money if they don't accept you. Non-refundable is if you break their terms doing something against the pro agreement and they revoke it (like selling stuff on eBay or letting a friend use your card, etc.)

There might be an age limit - that's a legal thing, rather than a MAC thing. Don't quote me on that, it's just a thought, seeing as it's a legal contract of a sort (being in the MAC Pro programme).

On the MAC Pro Card thread, I was told someone received word from MAC that there was no age limit. I'm 15 and an actress, so I might apply.

However, I except they might be more strict on professional criteria, but maybe not because for something like this it seems like it would be the same across the board.

I'm reviving this thread to ask if anyone knows what the "certification/diploma" criterion includes?

If you download the application from macpro.com, at the very bottom there is a list of possible criteria.

I did download it. They list "diploma/certificate" as one of the criteria. What I'm asking is WHAT qualifies as a diploma or certificate, from what school, etc. Does it have to be a year-long program, can it be a worshop certificate, does the school have to have some sort of affiliation?

Sorry if my meaning was not precise enough.

age shouldn't matter. they gave me an application when i was 12 because i modeled then. as long as you had a composite/portfolio whatever to prove you were currently working it was legit.

A diploma shows that you graduated from a school. A certificate shows that you took additional classes (for instance, I sent my diploma to show I graduated from cosmetology school and a certificate showing that I took a class in photo shoot make-up application).

Can you send in two letters from people you've done makeup for? For instance, if they stated that I did their makeup, that/what they paid me and that they were satisfied. I don't really have much formal stuff set up, but I'm going to need that discount because I'm doing grad makeup for about twelve people for example... And it could get very expensive.

PRO card application--anyone ever been denied???
Just curious, I have a friend who does makeup as a side job, & I was telling her about the card. She's afraid of being turned down, but I think it's worth a shot. I was just wondering if anyone has been turned down before.
