I got my first Mac eye shadow brush today (woohoo, 239, thanks to all the reccomendations here) but that is it, i can't afford to spend £16.50 on anymore. So how can i use the brush for more than one eye shadow in one go. Example if i applied some green shadow and then wanted to use the brush for some brown shadow then would i just pat the brush on my hand to make the previous colour fade off the brush or is there a 'quick-clean' method with which i can use the brush straight after for the next colour?

I just brush it on some Kleenex until there's no more color transferred onto the Kleenex, and go to the next color.

I lightly spray mine with brush cleaner then wipe it on a clean paper towel.

I wet a tissue with a drop or two of eye makeup removed and barely swipe the brush on it, then swipe on a dry part of the tissue until it's not colorful or damp.

I keep a towel with the texture of a "shop" rag. A non-fuzzy surface. Wipe my brush against it a couple times and then run my finger over the bristles and then it is usually enough.

Good suggestions. I thought you guys would probably go ''nooo! you can't use the same brush! buy loads of brushes!''

Just thinking though for the makeup remover swiped onto it, won't it leave traces of the remover on the brush as it isn't washed away and affect the next shadow?

Heck, I just brush it on the back of my hand to clean it and go on- I do not have time usually to find tons of tissues.

If I am being really neat about it, I will find kleenex (like going from black to white), but rarely.

Then I just wash my hand when I am done.

I'm pretty basic and usually in a rush when i put make-up, so I just wipe the brush off on a towel.

I just give it a "blow job"

I dont even own one MAC brush. I bought a pack of like 10 sponge applicator wands from the dollar store, they're holding up well. I use one colour per side of the brush, so I can have 20 colours and not have to mix them up. I also went to the local art supply store, bought a big soft brush for $6 which I use for foundation, an angle brush for like $4, and a couple fine tip just because. Only if I was a makeup artist would I buy a set, and that would be just to please my clients. Fingers and cheap stuff work fine for me! :-P

I just blow on the brush a few times and then swipe it across the back of my hand to make sure there isn't any lingering color. It's pretty quick and easy.

I use an unscented babywipe to clean and reuse my brushes immediately. It really works well and doesn't seem to hurt the brushes.

i have a makeup towel that i keep where i do my makeup to both wipe my brushes on between colours and to wipe up any mistakes. everytime i do my makeup i fold it to a clean part, and wash it once a week, when i ash my brushes.
