Paint application help...How do you apply?
Do you use your finger or a brush? If you use a brush, which one?

Do you layer it?

I think it's easier with your finger, you can really layer it up more in the center of the lid (or wherever needs more coverage), then slowly blend to less and less at the corners. Maybe if you're using a more pigmented, colorful paint, use a brush so it's more precise. I rarely reach for any of my paints but untitled...

For more specific area application, I use the 242 brush...but I also like using my fingers, I feel like I waste less of it.

I use my fingers, unless I'm in the mood for using my concealer brush. You do get more precision when using a brush, but usually I'm in a hurry in the morning and don't use it.

I use my finger to put it on, then the 242 to blend it. I find if I use my fingers to apply totally it gets under my nails and I hate that :x

I'll give it a shot!

Without brushes:

I squeeze the tiniest amount onto the back of one hand, smooth it out with a ring fingertip, then apply by gently painting it on with my little finger. If I accidentally paint an area I didn't want paint on, I get a cotton-tipped bud and quickly wipe it off using that.

With brush:
the same as above, but instead of using fingers, I use a MAC #242 for the whole lid. I still use cotton-tipped buds for fixing up overlaps though!
Make sure to get a nice even amount onto your brush or it'll go on all lumpy.

It's really just trial and error...oh there was so much error on my part!

Good luck!

i just use my fingers when applying paints...but you need to be careful on how much pressure you put on the tube. if you put too much, the product comes pouring out, and you end up wasting it. so apply a tiny amount of pressure to the tube and gradually keep squeezing until some paint comes out. then i just simply apply it with my ring finger to the lid. it doesn't need to be perfect - it's only your base!

Question about Paints
When you apply a paint to prevent creasing and increase shadow staying power (as opposed to using it to intensify a color), do you apply it on the lid only or all over from lid to brow?

TIA !

i apply mine before shadow application with a 242 or 217 brush on the lid only, packing color on before the paint dries...if i want a more intense look uner my brows i do a CCB
