I saw this story posted on another forum that I frequent and just thought I'd share. Asia Carrera, the former porn star, recently had another baby -- all by herself. No midwife, no nurse, no doctor, no medical personnel, no husband (husband died recently ), and with a young child in hand .

I would love a homebirth...but there is not a soul in the area that does such a thing. This is Illinois...home of ridiculous multi million dollar malpractice lawsuits.

Holy cow....I would be so freakin scared if I went into labor by myself. I mean I know women did it for centuries before we had the luxuries of drugs and doctors and fancy hospitals but I'm such a drama queen, everybody in the city would have heard me screaming for help!

Damn...what an awesome story! I admire her attitude, strength, and courage. And I feel badly that her husband couldn't be there with her It just goes to show, nature knows how to take care of mommies. I don't know that I could ever be that brave, I'd be so paranoid that something could go wrong. But then, something could go wrong anywhere and she knew just what to do.

Ahhh.... You got to have some big balls if your willing to consider giving birth by yourself.. Because honestly anything can happen, you might need an episiotomy or if you labor for too long the baby will be stressed and its heart rate can drop.. soo many scary things..... Shes got incredible strength that's for sure

If I'd tried that, my son and I would be dead.
