Question about the Smashbox primer
I just bought the Photo Finish the other day.I used it yesterday, and loved it,but today.....I cleansed, put toner on,then moisturized(i use practive most of the time)then put the primer on,and then my foundation, but it seems like my foundation isn't even doing anything.I use MAC SFF and it doesn't even seem to cover anything anymore. My skin also looks really flaky and dry feeling. Is there a certain way you are supposed to apply this primer? Are you supposed to just pat in on,or rub it in?I rubbed it in so i guess that's why it's flaking up.
So does anyone use this,or something else?
TIA

Re: Question about the Smashbox primer
How quickly are you putting on the primer after all of your toner, moisturizer, etc? You might be putting on too much too soon. After my shower, I tone, moisturize & let everything set for awhile...get dressed, get my m/u ready etc. Then when I am ready to start my face is completely dry & then I add the primer just with my hands, and add foundation right after.

Re: Question about the Smashbox primer
Hmm that may be it.I do it like step after step immediately.I just bought that Monistat Chafing Gel stuff.EXACTLY like the Smashbox primer.Weird!A whole lot cheaper too.I'm gonna alternate both and see which i like better.36 bucks.....i wanted to like that primer, but it just made me skin feel a lil weird.
Thank you for the tip. When i do my make up again i'll try it.

Re: Question about the Smashbox primer
Yeah, I use the Monistat Gel too..but I do have some of the primer as well..exact same stuff. I like it as a primer because it makes my skin feel soo silky.

Re: Question about the Smashbox primer
You only need a tiny amount of primer. Less is definitely more with this product, make sure it is blended well into the skin. Also give it a few minutes to set before you put on the rest of your makeup.

I agree. PF (Photo Finish) is a weird product in that it takes some getting used to the application. You only need a small amount and it needs to be blended well. I used my fingers. It's easiet, I feel. If you use too much it will start to bead up and rub off. I would put a little on my forehead, a dab on each cheek and then just rub it in well. I'm sure you will get the hang of it.

Re: Question about the Smashbox primer
I use the Monistat gel too. I was at the pharmacy and there was a basket of this stuff on the counter so I thought, what the heck and grabbed it. I used photofinish primer with spf before and the gel feels lighter, which is a good thing. It still gives that silky smooth finish so I think I can deal with the Monistat gel instead!

Yeah it is a bit different, but so much cheaper.
I did get a break out after wearing it all day yesterday, but then again it's probably just cause it's that time of the month
I do love the way everything goes on so smoothly.I think i'll stick with the monistat(even with the weird looks when i buy it lol)But hey, whatever works, right?
