Cupcake Cult Eye Primer

Would You Buy This Product Again?: Yes

Comments: I got this at hottopic, because I didn't have any eyeshadow primers. I hadn't heard any reviews on it, but I thought I would get it because it was only 3.99. It's sort of pinkish shimmery maybe like Rubenesque paint pot (different texture). It's probably a little more pink then that. When you apply it, you can't really see the color as much was you can when it's in the pot. It's sort of textured like a cream eyeshadow. I don't put too much on though, cause it's more likely to crease.

I really like it overall. The packaging is ok, it's really cheap. I'd say that it works really well though. It makes colors more vibrant, and definatly last longer.

If you zoom in on it you can see the color better.

I bought this too, and its okay for someone new to primers - but after a while, my eyeshadows weren't brighter, and it didn't do too much for me. It didn't make my shadows last much longer, either, and its gotten a bit harder to blend out, too [I totally don't get that]. I'm better off using a white eyeliner as a base when I want a pop of colour.

This is okay. I really like the color and it does make my eyeshadow lasts longer BUT it creases. I might try to put a litttle less and see how this works, I especially like wearing this on no eye makeup days and/or when I am just going out to the supermarket or the gym.

When you're cheap like me, you won't find any complaints with this product... other than they aren't selling it anymore. You're lucky if you can still find it on clearance! Anyway, my review..

I just apply this to my lids all over (I use my fingers to smooth it out) and make sure I blend it and smooth it out well. I say this because it is pink and shimmery; if you don't smooth it out, it will just look like pink eyeshadow, especially if you use too much! (By the way, it makes an awesome pink shimmer eyeshadow that lasts all day if you want to use it by itself.) On your lids, it will look pinkish, but once you apply your eyeshadow, you won't notice. I recommend applying a neutral, close-to-your-skin colored eyeshadow to cover up any excessive pinkness. Then apply your shadow as usual. And voila! You have beautiful eyelids with colors that are vibrant and will last all day!

This product is really a steal for $3.99, considering what it does. I've used UDPP and I personally prefer the Cupcake Cult primer. UDPP did make my shadows last somewhat, but the colors were dull by the end of the day. With the Cupcake Cult primer, my colors were vibrant from when I put them on at 6am until 9pm when I washed my makeup off. The only thing about the cupcake primer is that after a long day, you might notice a little creasing, but not much. Not enough to ruin your look! When I notice creasing, I just smooth it out with my finger. Tada! Its good as new. =) It just works better for my skin.

Now, its time to show this stuff in action. Below are photos I have taken throughout the day to show how well the primer works for me!

first applied at 9am

much later, at 8pm

into the early morning at 1am

For a $1.00, I'm happy as a clam...It really works well with my lighter shadows..shroom, soba..etc.. and the colors pop. I haven't had an issue with creasing but I'll make sure to keep the application sparse so I don't run into that. I like the consistency. The shadows adhere to the cream like texture and control any shadow fall out.
I'd say for the price, it's worth it to try out.
