there are a lot of people who swear by Maybelline mascaras, but this one was a real miss. this mascara comes with a primer and the actual mascara. i had no problem with the primer...but the actual mascara made my lashes all clumpy and they stuck together. what a waste of $5.

This wasn't bad. Wasn't as dramatic as I'd like, but nice for a natural look. Completely not messy, perfect there. I didn't like that even the mascara alone (without the base coat) was sort of gray, in it's darkest shade.

I don't like the packaging, I always grab the wrong end when I pyull the wand out. I do like the product alone or with the conditioner, it makes my lashes appear very full.

Overall: i guess I liked this product, but only for the fiber primer in waterproof. It actually lengthened my lashes and thickened them a bit, but the mascara is horrible! It made my lashes clumpy and stick together (hellooo, spider legs!). Also, since the primer is white, when the mascara is over it, it turns a gray-ish color, and you have to be extra careful to completely cover the white. Packaging sucks, its confusing, bulbous, and theres not a lot of product in there. I would buy again though, just for the primer...other primers I've looked for are 12USD plus, so I'd pay 5 bucks again for the XXL primer...and use JUST the primer

This stuff bit it for me. The primer was goopy and clunky (the new L'oreal is MUCH better, I tried to post a review but the internet lost it) and the colour part only made things worse. This stuff is the reason I am not a fan of two step mascaras.

I absolutely HATE this product. It's very very messy and doesn't go on evenly. I use a sponge for it, but it still got everywhere. Then I tried mosturizing my face again and it went on a little better but not much. It's really clumpy and it you aren't careful it gets in your hair, clothes, etc. It wasn't worth the 7.00 I wasted on it.

I have 4 of these laying around in my drawer simply because I love the primer on this. I think there are batches that are sticky and the just clump really bad. I am not crazy about the mascara. I actually might not have to buy this again since I found a better primer and I finally found my HG mascara

I love it because it rarely clumps (although I guess mine is the only one? Inconsistant batches, maybe?). I hate it because it really doesn't do anything. Sure, it extends a little bit, but I've achieved much better looks from several one-step mascaras. Overall, the time spent on the two-step process isn't worth the end result. That, and the wand for the 2nd step (black) mascara is incredibly chunky and oversized, making it difficult to apply.

I got this Maybelline mascara when it first came out in 04, i believe. I guess the price was alright since it had two sides, but it was really fat and bulky. For someone who wore mascara once a week (or less), the wand clogged up and the mascara dried up really fast - in like a month. By the way, the white first step comes on so thick, your lashes dry in WHITE, so its not like a clear primer. Everyone doesnt need to know you have a fat black glob of mascara on.

I love XXL if only for the primer end. The mascara itself is terrible, and makes my lashes look like spider legs. However I adore the primer end (it extends my wimpy lashes and holds the curl like no other mascara I've tried) and use that and another mascara (usually volumizing) for the best possible effect.

I buy almost every new mascara that comes out...Something about a mascara comercial that really motivates me I actually really like the XXL. The primer is great, the mascara is fine (on me atleast). The packaging is kinda bulky though. I get comliments on my lashes all the time, so I will buy this one again!

You get what you pay for. It wasn't horrible, but it wasn't the best mascara I have used. IMO the L'oreal(sp?) version is so much better.

Comments: it's so weird that nobody else likes this mascara, because i swear by it. it works perfectly for me and never clumps or anything. my only complaint is that it is sort of hard to remove, but otherwise i love it!
