wales eyeshadow palette
I was wondering if anyone had any eyeshadows from Wales and if they're any good (as far as color payoff, staying power and blendablity).
I'm looking for budget friendly eyeshadows so that I can play around with color. I don't think you can get this in a drugstore, but I'm not sure . I saw their pallets online and they're really affordable.

Thanks!

Re: wales eyeshadow palette
yah i got one for my birthday and i wasnt so thrilled after i got it.The shimmery ones go one amazing but non shimmer colours dont even show as much.To make the colours show i apply cream shadow in a colour close to my lid colour to get it to stick and show.I wana make use of it somehow. But overall its ok.

Re: wales eyeshadow palette
Thanks for replying!

It looks so tempting, since you can get so many colors for such little money...

Maybe if I used my shadesticks as bases or get a paint (pot)?

Does anyone know of an affordable eyeshadows that have a big color payoff? (other than the HIP collection from Loreal, because I'd rather spend a few more dollars and get a non-drugstore for their cost )

Re: wales eyeshadow palette
They are amazing value for money as you have soo many colours to experiment with. There not as pigmented as MAC but I sometimes find thats a good thing if you don't want the colour too vibrant and make sure to use a good base, a shadestick or paintpot like you said in the post above would be perfect.

Re: wales eyeshadow palette
I just received the Wales palette from ebay.com.au today, and I love them!! the colours are highly pigmented and are smooth and almost creamy (but in a dary format, you know). They are really value for money, cost me around $8.75 (including shipping from Hong Kong to India!) for a 40 pct palette.

Re: wales eyeshadow palette
I also have the 40 palette. I ordered mind from ebay. When it arrived it was damaged...some of the shadows were broken and powder was everywhere.

Just my opinion the shadows are to soft/creamy I get alot of fall out. As far as pigmented there pretty good for the price...must use a base.

Hey ilovecheese,

Slightly off topic but I was wondering if you've had any dramas with ebay parcels sent to you? I'm moving to Amritsar soon and have heard horror stories about the Indian postal system, Any info on your experiences will be great.

Thanks
Talste

Re: wales eyeshadow palette
I got mine of ebay, from Hong Kong to England. I really like them, its cheap, and I love love love wearing bright eyeshadow and you[ve got loads of colours to experiement with! Ive found that if u use a base first, they have alot more staying power, and go on much brighter. For the price, u cant really go wrong with it!

Re: wales eyeshadow palette
i got mine off ebay as well early of this year. the e/s is hard to blend and its kind of powdery rather than show the colour more. i already experiment it with udpp, white pencil and also vaseline. still, its hard to blend. but somehow, i found the "secret" of blending it. my bodyshop eyeshadow brush makes it easier to blend and imo, makes the colour more vibrant.

here is the fotd that i'm using the wales palettes

Re: wales eyeshadow palette
i HAVE TWO PALETTES AND I LOVE THEM! They're aren't powdery, not a lot of fallout, no damage and I got both of them for 17 and that included shipping from overseas. It took about 2 weeks but they were coming from Hong Kong.

Re: wales eyeshadow palette
There's two that this girl on youtube who does videos (panacea81) has used them before with a MAC Beige-ing shadestick as the base, and the colours were so pigmented. I was thinking of getting two of the Wales Palettes (40 colours each), but I'm worried because they come from Hong Kong and lead is a big thing there with products being recalled..does anyone know if they're safe? I want to purchase them to use on my clients but I don't know..

Re: wales eyeshadow palette
I've got one of the 40 color palletes as well. It is a very good deal if you're looking to get the most color choices for cheap. As stated in a few of the above posts you absolutely must have a good base for the color to take hold and pop!

The texture is a bit chalky on the mattes and fallout is a bit of an annoyance, but that may be just user malfunction on my part. The eyeshadow is also fragile and prone to breakage. I've just been careful with my pallete but one good drop on the floor and it's garbage, so be nice to it.

Blendability is so so. I'm still trying to master it.

So it does seem to be a more difficult shadow to work with, but with time and practice you can really make some fantastic looks. The colors are very bold and look actually brighter on than in the pallete. The cost greatly outweighs any faults. I'd really recomend this pallete to anyone interested in color. I like it so much I'm going to get the 120 color pallete, now that's a lot of choices!

As far as lead content, I really don't know. I've been using it with no ill effects.
