First of all, I got this for free because I was also buying HIP's Intrepid pigment and Ulta was having a buy one get one free sale on HIP products. So, of course, I think the price was just great! Regularly, it's $9, which I could live with, although I'd have given it a 4 instead of 5 for price.

The color is gorgeous! It's everything that I hoped MAC Russian Red l/g would be. (I excitedly bought Russian Red last December hoping it would be my go-to red, but it was too bright and required too much to make it work for everyday: i.e. putting it over pencil and Viva Glam I.) The consistency is fairly thick for a gloss and stays on well, but it doesn't feel sticky. I've been wearing it with NYX lip pencil in Auburn, which works well with it.

I'm not so crazy about the packaging. I prefer a cylindrical tube with applicator to the squeezy kind. But I would still get this one again.

I just got this. Today, to be exact. I only wear shades of red, whether they be glosses or lipsticks. I love the color, but I've got to agree with you about the packaging. I've never been a huge fan of the squeezy tubes.
