Well I'd been lemming for a sheer red lipstick for quite a long time, but for some reason, Ladybug just wasn't doing it for me.... too orangey (MAC describe it as a "tomato red", and it does have that bright zingy tomato-ish yellow undernote about it), and also not quite sheer enough for what I wanted.... so when I found Milani Candy Apple on eBay and saw the price of it (less than 2 UK pounds), it was a no brainer, I had to give it a try....
And what a winner it is! Forgive the dodgy looking clear-topped plastic case, and you've got a lush, vanilla scented, sheer-but-still very pigmented bluish red lipglaze, that moisturises, and lasts and lasts. It's well named too, it reminds me EXACTLY of the red cellophane wrappers that you usually (at least in the UK) get candy apples in at Hallowe'en. VERY pretty.
This is my first Milani sheer lipstick, and I may try others in the future if I see 'em. I like Milani lipsticks anyway, the only downside of them's the weird flowery scent and flavour to put up with.... but the Sheers don't suffer from this, they have a much more pleasant scent and flavour.
I would've happily paid £10 for this if it had been in the MAC range. It's beautiful, I like it LOTS more than I like Ladybug actually! A really pleasing little find and highly recommended.
