My interview process (LONG LONG post)
Hi ladies!!
Well after looking at all the threads i truely was inspired by everyone to apply for MAC . The interview process took a long time and its so nerve racking lol.
Ok so heres my story...

I dropped off my resume and the third key holder told me she would put in a good word for me, she was so nice and sweet . So i thanked her and a couple weeks later i received a call from the counter manager asking me if i had time for an interview with her...of course i said YES!!!!!!!! she said she wanted to see my personality first before i could go to the demo interview and if i would be a good fit for MAC. so of course i was day and night on specktra reading through all the threads (thanks ladies).

The interview finally came and i dressed in black and did my makeup as best as i could.I arrived 10 mins early and the manager said if i could wait for her a couple more mins and i said of course no problem. So i waited and then she said if i could go with her to her office. while we walked upstairs she asked me my name and where i was from. At this point i was extremely nervous . So we got to her office and she started talking to me, and went right into the questions. She was very nice and sweet. She said my makeup was flawless and loved my look. Some of the questions she asked were:

What do you know about MAC?
What's your favorite product of MAC?
Sell me your favorite product
Who inspires you?
Tell me about MAC's history

So then she said that if i didnt get the job to not get disincourged and to keep on trying. But then she said if u were to make it to the next interview would you have time on this date? i said YESSS of course! then she said would you have a model? I said yes i have plently of friends who would be able to go. So she thanked me for going and said good luck! She said she would either call the same day or the next day for sure.

Any of you ladies must know how nerve racking it is to wait for that phone call lol. I waited and waited and NOTHING . So i decided to call her 2 days later, she asked me if she could call me later because she was busy. 5 mins later she called and said that she would definetly want me to go to the demo interview!!!!! i was so happy jumping up and down. She said she felt so happy for me and that the demo interview would be at a job fair. Which was 3 weeks from then.

So meanwhile i practiced and practiced day and night. I practiced on friends, sister, mom and watched youtube like crazy for any other techniques. I was also on specktra 24/7.

The demo interview finally came and i was so excited!! i took my best friend as my model. We arrived there about 15 mins early and there were TONS of girls all beautiful. I was nervous because there were so many girls which made me think it would be difficult for the managers to choose from so many . So at the job fair TONS of girls went to oral and demo interviews every hr. When i got there, there were about 15 girls for the oral interview and only 3 of us for the demo. The manager told us to wait for a bit more.

I was trying to look around the store and make sure where everything was at. So they finally called us into the place where we had to do our demo interview. There was one regional manager and 2 store managers there with us. The regional manager told us that we had 30 mins to put on a full face. He said he wanted us to use the Electroflash collection. No more than 4 products for the eyes. Each of us had different brushes i had the 187,129,222,239,266, and the 316. So as soon as they said go i grabbed the mineralize eyeshadow duo in two to glow and in love connection, then i quickly went and grabbed some strobe cream, primer for face and eyes, foundation, powder, blush, lip liner, lipstick, lipgloss and 3 eyeshadows.

In my head all i thought was SANATIZE, SANATIZE AND SANATIZE! so i sanatized all my products and threw all the tissue away. Meanwhile the managers and regional trainer were talking amongst themselves and coming by and looking how we applied makeup. So i started talking to my model and explaining everything i could. How i applied the product, the benefits and also i tried to sell every product by telling her everything about it. I felt that in the beginning i was so nervous but then i calmed down. I first put on some strobe cream then prep and prime then foundation then powder then blush all with the 187. then i moved on to the eyes. i applied some prep and prime for the eyes and quikly started applying the shadow with the 239. the trainer told us we had 5 mins left.so i quickly did her brows and last i applied some liner, lipstick then gloss. DONE! wow it was finally done!

So they said put everything down and we will critique you one by one. They first went to one girl and she seemed very nervous and told her how to work with the mineralize shadow. he said apply it on the other eye and we will be right back. so he looked at the other girl and said we will be right with you. They came to me and told my model to look down, up and straight. The regional trainer said the look is very soft but it grew on me throught the way. He said i love the look because its a look that anyone can wear anyday. he said most customers dont want crazy looks and the look i did was definetly a look that most people would like. then he said you "CHEATER"! i got scared and looked confused and then said your model is beautiful so of course this definelty helped lol. he said the look was very polished and asked me what would i rate it? I said 8 because i think i couldve worked on blending a bit more and on the waterline liner. He told the manager to work with me on the liner.(BTW i didnt know we would touch the models face, when i did my models eyeliner i didnt touch her face which was so hard because i didnt have anything for my hand to rely on).
so she showed me a technique and told me that i could touch her face even with both hands. she said you really dont need help with the liner because it looks perfect but we will just make it thicker. then she said to do the same thing on the other eye. she called the regional trainer and said look. he said beautiful i love it! then he told one of the girls that they would call her in 2 to 3 weeks to decide whether she was hired or not. they pulled me aside and asked me if i could do another interview, i said yes!
so they asked me to wait, so me and the other girl went into a room and waited for other store managers.

We waited and they came out. We introduced ourselves and they started asking us questions very similar to the ones to my first interview. I think thats when my nerves got me the most tho. they sat right infront of us and stared at us. i felt very nervous but tried to just answer all the questions and smile.

Then they said that they would call us in 2 weeks to let us know whether they decided to hire us or not.

Honestly i felt so comfortable with the first interview and the demo, the regional trainer was soooooo nice! but i dont know about the last interview . One week has passed and they havent called me yet. I really want this job more than anything. I dont know if i should call and just ask how everything went or should i just wait?
Do they usually tell you right there and then if you were hired?
ahhhh im just over thinking
Thanks ladies!!

Re: My interview process (LONG LONG post)
When I had my interview I was told they would ring me soon and also just had to wait. But either way they will ring you to let you know. Keep in mind they have to do a lot of interviews and then make a conclusion! If you felt confident that you did well you have a chance! Good luck! And if you don't get it this time at least next time you want to apply you now have a heads up! And if you don't get it make sure that you get feedback about what you need to work on! But I think it sounds like you have a decent chance! The hard part is over! ;0)

Our brushes were already sanatized but i still cleaned them with the brush cleaner. Then i wiped all the powder products with tissue, and lastly i dipped the lipstick into alcohol and then wiped it off with tissue.
