Skip this first block of text to "So currently...". The block is just a backstory rant about a teacher not remotely like the one I'm taking about now.

I registered for an algebra prereq and the teacher was a Iranian who had gotten tenure (protection to a certain extent from being fired for seeming competent as a teacher) and refused to teach competently after he got. He has the same continual complaints each semester on rateyourprofessors.com as a complete ass. He would not answer your questions, he'd make that dismissive "ssshhh" whatever sound when you raise a complaint about not having your question answered, he'd stop teaching at the board to watch and glare at you walk into class 5-15 minutes late, and he was even an asshole enough to pass a current student's low-marked quiz around to show how wrong they were. I pointed out he couldn't do that and he bitterly replied he covered their name "with my thumb!"

He shoulda been fired ages ago but that Math department has a middle eastern head of Math deparment as well...so...you can see where that went.

So currently...

I'm in accounting and a newbie is running her ass through chapters and the entire class is clueless. She's stated recently she needs to get through 13 chapters and answering questions and teaching the chapters aren't gonna get her to the promised land.

She's our age crazily and just starting out. And a chick teaching accounting.

I feel bad that at the end of the semester I have to review this woman very badly for putting some chapters ahead of satisfaction in learning a real skill.

I feel bad especially since I've never seen a woman teaching this in my life!! :sad:
