MAC - Monogram - (MAC's Annual Couture Collection - 08) Discussion

As many people have been suspecting, the Holiday Couture Collection of 2008 is called Luxe. I don't have any information on it other than that it will be released November 27th, 2008, but I'll keep you guys updated if I find anything else.

Let's gossip about it! I wonder what the packaging will be like this year?

Edit: Collection was renamed Monogram. :P

Whee...I hope the colors are better than last year, though. I didn't get anything because I just wasn't that impressed. Plus, it totally sucks the counters don't get this collection. I have to beg DH to take me to KC so I can hit the f/s on the Plaza.

These couture collections usually don't excite me too much! I wish that they would bring back hard to find LE products in the pretty packaging. That would be more up my alley than the muted and blah colors they have brought out in the past two years. That is just my opinion of course!

Oh, yes...that is a fantastic idea. It'd save them the trouble of coming up with new colors. I'd also love to see MAC release colors that were country/continent exclusives released here sometime. I just hate missing out on stuff like that.

I would love something that actually "looked" couture with regard to packaging. That would be cool. And if they could throw in some type of frosty, red piggie, I'd really appreciate it.

Pass!These Couture collections aren't avail.at Macy's so I'm all set with this.MAC needs to release a Macy's only collection.I know that once every few years they release a palette for them,but they are never any good imo.Let Macy's have an exclusive colletion for once since all other locations seem to get their own exclusives!

I didn't buy anything from last year's couture collection either. I probably will be skipping this because of the prices.

When I think of "Luxe" for some reason velvet comes to mind... velvet and rhinestones. I hope I'm wrong! I want something smooth and sleek like Chanel but better >_<

Luxe? Niiiice. I like the sound of that. I usually don't buy too much from the holiday collections either but what I do buy I end up looooving. I cannot wait for some pictures!!!

Personally I find the couture collections to be somewhat lacking. I feel like Mac would be better served to take that time slot and release something a little more productive. :shrug:

KC plaza mac store is the closest for me too (5 1/2 hrs)...We should do a KC meet up!

Yep, I agree with everyone else that something is really lacking with these I did buy one lippie & one lipgloss from the above...& I'm sure ya'll will never guess which colors

I loved last year's brushes! I bought the 129 and it in NO WAY compares with the regular 129. The softness is SO far superior to any other MAC brush I've ever bought or tested it's incredible. I am really hoping they'll include brushes this year as well.

I don't usually get too excited about many of the color products but the year before I bought Influential lipstick (Darkened peach with gold pearl pigments) and it is way up there on my list of faves.

It's almost as if the look is outdoing the product with this collection. I bought the mystery powder and big paddle brush last year only because I prefer it to studio fix. I do think last year's packaging was nicer than the year before, but the colors sucked.

They really need to change the sheer formulas of everything. They are trying to get on the level of Chanel with these type of collections (the ultra luxurious, but sheer formulas). They need to get a clue and have matte and amplified lipsticks instead of the glaze and lustre-like finishes, super thick creamy lipglasses instead of the sheer lustreglass-mixed-with-lip-gelee feel, and super high coverage and glamorous highlighters instead of the disappointing Rich Metals and Sheersparks. I love the Mystery Powders though. And I like the price too. <3
