np! i'm a newbie at applying lashes too.. i just started using them this year! my ma taught me to do this:
curl my own lashes 1st
apply a thin strip of the duo glue to the lashes
hold lashes gently and apply them starting from one side and gently press them onto the eyelid right abouve your lashline as close as possible
gently (but firmly) press them down, open eyes and voila!
apply mascara once glue has dried
when removing them, gently pull from one side to the other
i wouldn't wash them at all! i just lightly pull the excess glue off and store them back in the lash case...

When you do need to clean the excess glue off, my MA told me to use a q-tip and a bit of rubbing alcohol along the glue line. She said it should just come right off. I haven't tried mine yet either They sure look pretty in the box though.

ok I so know how u feel here are some steps that helped me but sometimes if they are to long cut them
1.prepare lashes after applying eye makeup hold lash band by both ends and flex it gently a few times.align lashband with ur natural lash line starting at the outer edge.
2.next hold the eyelashes i hold mine with a applicator thin put a thin line of glue on it for 30seconds until it becomes tacky
3.apply lashes apply band aganist eyelid as close to your lash roots as possible gently press corners with fingers for a few seconds and the glue will dry in about 3-5 minutes
I hope this helped u it is hard at first but gets easier they also feel weird if u never use them good luck

Here's what I do:
* I practice applying the false lashes before I apply the glue to them. This helps me get a feel for where I want to apply them and how I want them to look. New ones usually are already a bit sticky so it makes it easier for you to see what they will look like once you glue them on.
* Once I get the feel for it. I apply a very small amount of glue along the lash band.
* I apply the lashes as close as I can to my natural lash line. Next I take and squeeze the false lashes at base down against my lash line. I use my ring finger and my thumb but use what works best for you. It's like a squeeze press release motion. I don't hold my fingers there because I don't the glue to dry on them. I do this all way across. You might want to practice this before apply the glue. Keep in mind most lash glue does not dry right away. They say to wait 30seconds before applying I usually wait about 10 since I play around with the lashes once I get them on.
*Wait just a few mintues and they will be dry.
* I usually do the false lashes before I do my eye makeup but after I apply my eye base primer and under eye concealer. Sometimes I get a bit messy with the lashes and helps if I ever need to clean up any glue off my eyes.
*If once you get the lashes and you can see the band or have a small space between your lashes and false lashes take a black eyeliner and fill it in or go over the lash band.
*For Mascara if I am using just plain false lashes I will apply the mascara after the false lashes but if I am using lashes that have glitter tips or something besides just plain lashes I will the mascara before the false lashes. The reason why is I have found I usually get mascara on the false lashes and on the glitter parts. It can be tricky to apply the false lashes with mascara already on your lashes but it's not impossible.
Most of all just have fun!!!!

i put a thin line of black eyeliner close to my lashes so that i have no gaps between my natural lash and the fakes.
i use the flat of a thin eyeliner brush to hold the lashes down and actually use tweezers to pinch them together - CAREFULLY!!! i'm enough of a klutz that i've hurt myself before, so i don't recommend this to beginners.

Just thought I'd add that N.Y.C makes some lashes that are self stick so for those worried about glue problems these are great to start with. I suggest trying them out on day you are mainly staying home. Plus, they apply in two sections so you can make them look very natural.
I have the criss-cross ones they are great! I'll be posting an EOTD with them soon. I just got a new pair.
Relvon also has come out with a none glue false lash. I just bought one today.

Thankyou so much for this. I have now realised what I was doing wrong. I needed to leave the lashes for a few seconds so that the glue would get tacky before I apply them to my lashes.

I would also like to add a great tip that also PinkSweetie mentioned is that flexing the lashes back and forth really helps you apply the lashes better. That way they form they way YOUR lash line is instead of the box's lash line. I also use tweezers and apply my glue with that and don't use too much glue. And hmm..what else..OH and get as close as you can to your lash line, it will look more natural that way and of course practice! Once you get the hang of putting them on and wearing them, they can be a lot of fun :-)

Well this is what i do and i've gone through many failed attempts before i perfected this hassle free and secure way of putting the eyelashes on...
1) make sure that the eyelashes you bought have been sized to your liking, meaning sometimes the lashes are too wide for your entire eye so u have to cut a little off so that it won;t look weird on your eye. MAKE SURE YOU CUT THE ENDS AND NOT THE INNER MOST PART OF THE LASHES because you will be left with an ackward lash.
2) make sure you curl your natural lashes so that when the false lashes are on it doesn;t look like you have two layers of eyelashes.
3) use a toothpick to spread a thin layer of duo glue on the lash line of the eyelashes, let it dry for about 10-15 seconds or until when you touch the glue with your finger lightly it feels sticky
4) carfeully place the lash on your eyelid right above your natural lash line, use a toothpick to press it down firmly, that way it is secure
5) then waht i like to do to add extra security is to put a small amount of the glue on my toothpick, a thin layer and go over the lash line to secure the lash even further, most of the time the lashes feel funny because its not secure enough.
6) keep your eyes half closed and i'm impatient so i use a blow dryer on cool setting to dry the lashes and then just go over with mascara if you like or an eyeliner too if you like....
i hope that helps!

New here... but I hope this helps. I've been putting fakes on myself and others for, oh, dear. 20 years.
1. Make sure the lash is slightly shorter than your lash line. Most lashes have quite a long strip and MAC ones are longer than most as are Make Up For Ever. I usually trim them from the inside lashes to keep the length on the outsides.
2. Put some glue on a tissue. All surgical latex is the same. Pull any dried latex out of the top of the tube before you do this.
3. Take a toothpick or something like it and dip it into the glue. Put a drop on one of the corners and draw it across the lash so you have a thin line. If you can't draw it from end to end, put another *drop* on and keep pulling it across.
4. Holding by the middle lashes, gently push the strip towards your lash line. You'll have some wiggle room and the glue dries transparent.
5. Once you've got it where you want it, DON'T TOUCH for at least two minutes. I find if the lashes are long aiming a dryer at them will actually pull the corners up.
6. Do the side you're LEAST comfortable with first. Then it's out of the way and the pressure is off.
7. Use some clear mascara to blend the fakes with your real ones.
8. If you totally suck at this, start with half lashes. They're easier to wield and a good way to practice. You can also take a full set and make your own halves by chopping them in half. Then you get two pairs of halvsies. The MAC number fours have such a long strip I can actually get three half lash sets out of one set of full lashes.
I hope this helps.
